    Steampunk Transformers? Awesome!

I am much impressed by this concept.

"Ever wondered what form your favorite Transformers would take if they existed in different eras? Wonder no more, as IDW’s new Evolutions line will look at some special out-of-continuity tales involving the Robots in Disguise. The line makes its debut in June with the four-part Hearts of Steel. In this standalone miniseries, writer Chuck Dixon and Transformers artist supreme Guido Guidi transplant the ‘bots to the Industrial Revolution, where a charismatic hammer-man named John Henry discovers that a steam drill is really an alien robot named Bumblebee. Before he can process this information, the pair are attacked by Decepticons disguised as tanks, trains and walking engines. Is this all part of a larger scheme by Starscream? And if so, will the other Autobots arrive in time to stop his nefarious plans?"

Pride is not a sin. Hubris is not a failing. The galaxy is not a mere collection of stars, it is our birthright! For too long have men looked up the infinite expanses of darkness before them and looked back inward, seeking solance in their huddled, weak soulfires. I see the black depths before me and all I can see is an eternity of war and conquest in the Emperor's name.

    Old news'D
For me atleast, so I guess it's fair enough.

Aye, some of the concepts are absolutely stunning, others... Not so.
The Seekers and Astrotrain for example.

Ah well, TF classics are immensely cool enough to make up for a poopy Seeker and Astrotrain

No taste, you. Batwinged Skywarp <3

Ironclad Shockwave is made of sex and win, though.

And yeah, Hearts of Steel is a 4-issue storyline in the Transformers "what if?" series, Evolutions. I'm still hoping we get a decent WW2 version, with Nazi Decepticons, Soviet Combaticons, Imperial Japanese Bludgeon and Monster Pretenders, RAF Aerialbots... As opposed to the godawful GI Joe crossover.

The first issue of Hearts of Steel is out, with issue 2 out tommorow I think. It's pretty good, but as with all IDW Transformer storylines (Except, apparently, Stormbringer) humans play a significant role and you barely see any giant robot action.

    Everyone but me knew already...

Why did you not tell me?!?!

Anyways, here's hoping for a graphic novel that someone out in the midle of comic book nowhere can get. (WH Smiths in elgin has stopped selling 2000AD. I am most vexed. Yet they continue with the sale of the Marvel and DC reprint comics, the ceasation of the sale of which got me into 2000AD in the first place? Most odd.)

If you desire comiccy goodness, Reed Comics aren't that bad. Postage is a bit hefty at times, though.

There should be a trade sometime, but don't hold your breath. It probably won't be out until next summer.

I can deal with waiting (good thing concidering how long Amazon's taking with my last order), and am fast loosing the habit of buying individual comics. Trades are far easier to sit on a shelf and look pretey.
