    green stuff and yellow paint

    ok heres my two problems.

    1. Ive never modeled anything with green stuff before and i dont know where to start. Ive had a quick look through the old posts and cant find what im looking for(if there is a link would be fine also ). What tips could you all give to a green stuff newbie on how you model with green stuff? (how easily does it stick to the model, or your hands. Whats the best way to handle it and mould it etc etc you get the idea)

    2. Is there much difference in the yellowyness of bad moon yellow (which i currently use) and other yellows such as sunburst yellow or golden yellow? I ask this question so i know weather to go out and buy a new pot to do the yellow banding on my IW with or not.

    Thanks all

Green stuff - I wouldn't say I'm an expert, but I have a vague idea of how to use it. It will stick to anything (especially the yellow half) unless it's wet, the the deal is, wet your finger before handling it, wet your knife before cutting a strip off, wet your knife/fingers/sculpting tools before working on it. A knife (or a proper tool) will give the best shapes, but it's normally a good idea to smooth it with your fingers a bit to get a good texture - just beware of fingerprints.

As for yellow paint, as a general rule it's pretty awful. I use sunburst usually, it's quite a strong, warm yellow - probably "yellower" than BM, if that's whaty you mean. The problem is that (like most yellow paint AFAIK) it's thin as hell, so you either have to reprime the bits you want to be yellow, or use several dozen coats of paint.
Like slack-jawed never Gnyaarg. Some then folks'll folks'll skunk, some. the but, again yokel eat a Cletus.

..or build your yellow up from a light brown or an orange.. Painting yellow straight on is difficult, unless you're doing it over a white undercoat (where you's probably want to blackline it afterwards).

That said, Pertinax has done some pretty cool Imperial Fists by just painting them yellow over a white undercoat, then inking them with yellow ink. You have to be neat to pull it off nicely, but it's simple.

Bad moon yellow is paler than sunburst (more yellow/white)

If you want an intro to epoxy putty (i.e. Green Stuff), you should look here. It's a great guide on how to begin working with it. Also, I suggest buying at least one sculpting tool (the one from GW is expensive, but not bad), if you're buying a set from a model/painting store (pretty expensive: 30 euros/15 brit.pounds/40-45 dollars you should be alright for quite a while).

And one small tip while working with GS (I don't know if they say it on that link, but I guess so): work with lots of water. This means that you need to work on a smooth, wet surface, otherwise the GS will stick to your hands like gnoblars to a Tyrant.
