Re: Wood elves, Christmas gobbos, Witch hunters and more

    Thanks everyone

Noeste: I think I might make it a bit longer. At least the rear part. Ribbons might be a good idea thanks : ) Not sure on the colour scheme yet. Bit I'm thinking the cloth will be warlock purple. I love that colour ^^

Jiggy: Thanks. Eventually it will be a whole army. Not sure about the size though. But probably at least 1000 pts.

Elazar: Yeah you're right. The spear might be a really good idea. ^^ And his physique alone makes me think of greek statues. I've thought about painting his skin like he's a statue actually.

    Breazer: Thanks

scarletsquig: Yeah people keep telling me how good the colour scheme is and I must say I'm very proud of it. It took a long time to figure ut out ^^ I'm glad you like it. And thanks for the tip. I'll definitely get some of those archers.

speedygogo: Thanks glad someone likes the hair too xD

Monsterzonk: I will do my best ^^ Thanks!

    mrtn: thanks : )

dwarfhold13 and mark_logue: I'm glad to hear that. I'll do my best with him. But he won't be painted for long I'm afraid. I have to finish those WE :/

Satan: Oh nice. This one is at Högskolan i Skövde.

Re: Wood elves, Christmas gobbos, Witch hunters and more

I'm a long time lurker (that sounds sinister! :P) on this thread but today, I finally feel compelled to post and to display my admiration for your work..... and hair.

    I like the hair.

On to the painting, Those Wood elves are awesome. You've heard it before a hundred times but they really are very good. That colour scheme is absolutely spot on and is cleverly offset by the basing. I've seen the same cooking herb techniqe used before but not nearly as well executed as your efforts. I'm going to have to steal that recipe myself.

The Daemon prince is also looking very promising. I recall a similar conversion in a WD years and years ago.... I can't remember which one it was though...... anywho, your attempt at creating an unique DP is commendable!

I too am looking forward to seeing yet more Goblins and so keep up the good work.

Yeah I'll come forward and say it too, "Awesome armies, great conversions, nice hair" although I gotta say, I think what most of us cave dwelling nerds are trying to say is this "Dear god a gaming girl that doesn't smell of week old ham and need not be carried about by a forklift!". However, many nerds have yet to develop apt social skills and are left speachless, and only, "purdy hair miss" seems to make it out. Anyway, keep up the good work!

Sounds like a superb idea. A stone statue or a bronze statue? Sounds suitably vain and Slaaneshi for an idea though

    Sounds like a sound plan!
Purple's a nice colour indeed. What of the skin; traditional Slaaneshi milk white skin, or something else?

Re: Wood elves, Christmas gobbos, Witch hunters and more

Thanks everyone : D Your comments make me happy.

Ewr: Cool : D I hope you got to work in the business.

Mabus: I'm very glad to hear that : ) Thanks. Yeah I remember a slaanesh daemon prince based on the deciever in white dwarf. It was quite different though. And by all means, steal the recipe ^^

Ludaman: Hahahaha okay xD Well umm... thanks.

    mdiscala: Thanks ^^

Elazar: I'm thinking stone. Metal would make him look too much like the deceiver.

mrtn: Why not? XD I like knowing what people look like irl.

Succurso: Thanks : ) I'm glad you did. Comments are always appreciated.

Jkkb: You'll have to wait for christmas. Haha. I'm concentrating on my wood elves. I'm really trying to get them finished.

    Indreth: Thanks : )

Noeste: I'm thinking a pale skin or a stone effect. Like he's been gifted with the perfection of a sculpture.

    Mercutius: Thanks ^^ tee-hee

It's time for another update. I visited my family and took the opportunity to take pictures of my eternal guards and second spellsinger. The lighting wasn't very good though. Normally I rely on quite a bit of sunlight to take the pictures. But well, this is a dark october. Anyway I adjusted the colour balance and contrast levels in photoshop to try and make the best of it.

Here's my second spellsinger. She's been painted for quite a while. I went for grey hair to show that she's the older and wiser of my two spellsingers (who are sisters).

And here, finally, are my 20 Eternal guards. They're finished, except for one side of the banner (I painted the first side friday last week). I hope you like them : )

    Some closeups:

    another one:

and a closeup of the finished side of the banner. Some simple swirly freehanding. I think I might try to paint some more advanced freehand on the BSBs banner - if I dare.

I'm afraid the next update won't be until christmas. But for christmas I'll promise to bring you some more wood elves, a christmas gobbo or two and some special surprise.

Wow! You never fail to impress when you update!
The Spellsinger looks great, I love the colour and shading for her hair especially.
Those Eternal Guard look awesome though! They really are stunning. Even the movement trays are brilliant. Very impressive stuff! Not sure what to add to that really.
Oh and I think stone for the Daemon Prince is the better idea too. Especially because like you say he'll be too much like the deceiver still if in bronze. Looking forward to more pics of him!

Looks fantastic, as usual! I really like the warm browns, and the freehand on cloth/cloaks is very very nice.

For the DP - why not go for marble? Bleached bone/white with grey/blue/red weins?

    Awesome.
I love Wood Elves. I love the colour red. I totally love that big unit of Eternal Guardians. Amazing.

Re: Wood elves, Christmas gobbos, Witch hunters and more

Elazar: Thanks : ) That's great to hear. Yeah I wanted to make the movement tray something special. I'll make trays for all the non-skirmish regiments eventually I think.
Not sure when I'll paint the prince. I'm afraid I won't paint him until next year actually. I have more important plans for now ^^ Such as the bsb, wild riders and so on.

Dark Apostle: Thanks I'm glad you like the stuff. Yeah I was thinking of marble actually ^^

    C-Coen: Thanks for the love

Here's the quick concept for the banner art:

Oh and the empty space in the front of the EG unit is reserved for my upcoming bsb ^^
