I think Captian Morgan would be proud Sigur.![]()
Very, VERY nice! Those crystal brush submissions were off the hook. Seeing them in person was just fantastic, as well. Such high quality stuff! I'm a bit sad I didn't get around to finishing my entry for this year. Perhaps next time...
That said, I reinforce to you that your work is excellent and those guys are freaks. Really cool freaks, but abnormal in their incredible skill and talent ;-)
really nice mate, I like very much you want to "upgrade a level" in youtr skills, I think you have quality enough for this...
I am looking forward to see 1st and 2nd entries directly, so I know both, Jose and diego...they are terrific artists
Thanks very much, guys.
@Gargobot: Dankesehr, and thanks for the input. Guess you're right about the hand position as it was in the picture. And I would love to cast this model (or any other I do) some time, sure.
@Catferret: Cheers, Sir. So he's essentially holding the hat between thumb and index finger? Hmm, maybe I'll try that.
@npow34: Hehe, thanks. Guess the third would be actually designing games but who in their right mind would do all these things at once (to an extent that goes beyond hobby that is of course).
@N810: Hehehe, I hope he would be. Honestly, I sat in front of some sketches, thinking of poses and whatnot. I thought of wanting to do a somewhat cheery, relaxed, maybe drunk sailor/pirate type, decided that I wouldn't be able to come up with anything and as a joke looked up the captain morgan pose, tried some sketches and such and stuck to it, with quite some changes of course, because I wanted to get to sculpt and knew I wouldn't come up with any better ideas at the time.
@Anvalous: Thanks. Yeah, I know, these people are very much specialized in very "high fantastic" kind of style of designing and painting things and come from a completely different corner of modelling and painting than I do. Still, these things made me want to give it a try as well because deep down I have this delusion that these people also just put on their trousers one leg at a time. I don't want to do exactly what they do, because I know that it's not my thing in a way but I think I'll always try to achieve similar things in what I do if that makes any sense. Would love to have seen these pieces in real life as well.
@Lord Azoth: Thanks very much. It required some kicking by Catferret to actually get me to do stuff rather than just sit and complain about it though.
Speaking of complaining, here's some new WIP pictures:
Err....I hope you like them.![]()
Update!

Well Sigur,
what shall I say?
Next time we meet I shall bring you a bottle rum
Great sculpting,

@Mathean: Arrr, glad to hear that.
Look who we got here! And there you thought you'd never see that guy again, right? Now where did I put that shield....

Knight looks fantastic! Well done!
That pirate looks great sigurI`m a huge fan of the more soft lines that OOP figs offer, not to slag the new stuff but I just find that the old ranges had more "soul" than what you get today. However today you get a ton of bits in almost every set so you win some and lose some
So even I struggle with keeping myself on topic here, great pirate! Would love to see some more in the same style, preferably in the same vein that you`ve started on

@Anvalous: Thanks! :-)
@Red Skullz: Thanks very much. I'll see that I can try making another miniature as soon as possible.
@Meraklis: Cheers, that's very kind. Not sure if the "skilled" thing applies here though.Glad that you enjoy the plog!
@npow34: Well, you never know but for now no other Bretonnians are planned at the moment.
@N810: Cheers. :-) I wasn't sure of the eyes first but simply one-coloured or gemstone eyes didn't have this really nice sockpuppetlook to them.
@Harry: Who are you? Go away.![]()
Yes, now that he's finished I'll send him off to you as soon as possible.
I'm glad that he's finally finished (and that I found the shield again in the end. Found it in my paperclip box.) and I hope that you (and especially Harry of course) like him. Oh, by the way: The coat of arms displays two paintbrushes, the profile of a squirrel (naturally), a bell (like the one my avatar wears around his neck, and a cross (for no particular reason other than a cross is what you do when you run out of ideas when designing a coat of arms. C&C welcome, thanks for looking and see you very soon!

That's very cool Mr Squrrl.
Trouble is it has reminded me that I started a knight for Harry... I need to find which box it's in...
Ha, I was already a bit worried you may have finished the guy already before me.You did one with a huge hammer, right?
So besides you and Catferret apparently, who else belongs to Harry's knights of the pie table? And will we ever see all the knights in one place/photo?
Nah, but his knight-hat had a weird cat thing with a baseball bat. This is him pre-paint.
Way cool looking knight, makes me think again that using Brettonians as the base for proper Empire knights is the way to go, lol.
(horse wise at least)
Catferret, your knight looks cool to!
