A bold statement to finish all the rank and file by that deadline, but will sure be interesting to see the result.
And dang if I didn't get first on page 100!!!

@Malenky_malchick: Thanks.There'll be a new picture update shortly.
@Samurai33: Congrats, you're the first to post in page#100 of my Fantasy Painting Log. Your prize is in the making.That aside, did you say BOLD? Like Cowboy Mike's Red Hot Ricochet Barbecue Sauce? Well...I guess you did. And indeed, it was a little bold.

LOL.
"It's bold enough to bulldog your taste buds and hogtie your tongue! IT'S BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLD!!!"
I did indeed say that, and I'm sticking to it![]()
Alright then, but keep in mind that there is no known antidote for Extra Bold.
Handgunners and Swordsmen finished, Shields 30% done, one custom-made mission objective marker for starting page#100 built and primed.
Wonderschon! Hurrah for objectivemarker price. It will sure some in handy. I can't wait for what you'll put up as a price for page 200.
Actually it's not that bold, decidedly un-bold.
I've had somewhat of a MST3K marathon and that episode happens to be one of the ones I watched (Season 6, episode 11).
Back on topic, I'm eagerly awaiting the update on the swordsmen and handgunners.![]()
Congrats for your 100th page.![]()
This is the war-ravaged world of Warhammer, and there's only WAR!... and hammers.
Ooo the Investigation is over, I didn't expect that at all, but then again "No one expects the inquisition!"

Thanks everybody!

Good to see you are back up. Glad the inqusition got pulled off your back.
The minis look fantastic as always. The engineer is just outstanding!!! You sure know how to do characters. This really raises the expectations for the WP. (and the objective marker is way cool). Getting close to the end now aren't you![]()
Brilliant. Favourite part: spectacles![]()
Good to see you back! *extinguishes torch and walks off whistling*
Those glasses are looking brilliant.![]()

Great stuff as always Sigur the gold on the engineer looks so lifelike, is it painted with citadel paints or another brand?
Anyway glad you escaped the gallows. Keep up the good work it's always a pleasure checking this plog.
Cheers
Marius Leitdorf is not dead, I bumped into him in Tesco last week.
THE OLD BLACK AND YELLOW an Averland project log

Love that almost neon green on the feathers. A brief tutorial, perhaps?
Phew, my favorite log is back.
The engineer's glasses look absolutely stunning, I'd really like to know which colors you used on them. I painted that engineer mini too, but couldn't figure out how to paint the glasses. In the end I painted them silver, like I've seen Dark Apostle do it over in his log. Still I'd really like to know, for the next time. (Still got that monocled head.)
Those lenses are GREAT. Perhaps a closeup, maybe....umm??![]()
GOOD grief......I just looked again. The scrolls attached to the front of the shields have painted on words/lines.
GLAD the thread is open again. I had been wondering what had been done wrong to get it closed.
I am therefore I think OR I think therefore I am?
Some nice work on the rank and file Averlanders and of course the engineer deserves special mention the spectacles make the model.
Welcome back and toe the straight and narrow, we need our good painting fixes!

Just to echo - the specs on the Engineer are just mind blowing... care to share the recipe?
@Morglum Necksnapper: Cheers.
@Samurai33: Thanks.Looking forward to painting the WP.
@Abraham Danglebreech: Thank you!
@Lord Dan: It's basically DA green. It always ends up looking very artificial for some reason. In this case, it's basically just a mix of DA Green and Badab Black Wash and highlights with DA Green/white.
@Gargobot: Besten Dank. Incidently, it's my fravorite log as well.![]()
@Crazy Harborc: Thanks. You wouldn't really expect me to leave these parchment pieces on the shields cloth-coloured right?That would leave the impression that these guys just use their shields to dry their kids' diapers during battle.
@jdp: Thanks.
@Crube: Hullo and cheers.
So about those spectacles - I think those work that well because they give the face (natural focal point) additional contrast and basically make the difference between this being a rank and file looking guy and a character. So much for the artsy blabla. Here's the colours: P3 Exile Blue and white. It's the first time I achieved anything nice-looking with P3 paints. I mean they're okay and I got some bottles for testing but they didn't reinvent the wheel. Apart from that, I find the palette a little strange. Looks like regular colours but with a bit of black mixed into each paint.
For those of you who don't know Exile Blue (and I sure as heck wouldn't know it if I didn't have it) - it's very close to Regal Blue, just a tiny little very very subtle bit grey...ish...er.
So here's what happened:
.) Use P3 Exile Blue to basecoat the glasses
.) Mix Exile Blue with White of your choice for first highlights (we paint these glasses just like lenses or gemstones by the way); about 60/40 (Exile Blue/white)
.) highlight again with another mix; about 30/70
.) paint little dots on the edge where the blue is the darkest
I'm fairly sure that it was just two layers of highlights on this one. If you want you can use a third one, just be careful so the whole thing doesn't get too light.
Hope that helped. :-)
P.S.: Woah, 2000th poast in this thread! Woo!*
*This entitles nobody to anything. Move along.![]()
