Tir'sahras- The Land of Shame (Eldar)

Welcome to my Eldar project log. I have just started this army and played a few games. I guess I will start off with a bit of fluff, a list, and a few pics.

    Tir'sahras-'The Land of Shame'

The Craftworld known as Tir'sahras was one of the first of such vessels to flee the heart of the Eldar empire. At the time of the Fall its inhabitants were already far away from the region which would become the Eye of Terror and the psychic shockwave that accompanied the birth of the Great Enemy was almost as if a subtle echo to them. Perhaps, due to this, the Eldar of Tir'sahras did not take She Who Thirsts with the gravity that such an entity deserves. Shortly after the Fall, the Eldar of the Craftworld began to fall back into their old habits. As if they believed all crisis had been averted, the pleasure cults sprung up around the craft like rotten roses from some diseased corpse. Many of its citizens did not even know of the Path. If this had continued it is almost assured that the Craftworld would have destroyed itself. If not for the pilgrimage of Asurmen it probably would have. In blood and fire he and the first Dire Avengers purged their wayward kin, destroying the depraved. He founded three shrines before he left, but what was left behind was something very different to any other Eldar community. A stoic and sad people, the Eldar of Tir'sahras refer to their Craftworld as 'The Land of Shame'. The survivors never touched the ruins of the pleasure temples, thus the Craftworld is spotted with grim reminders of their greatest mistake.

Now, the Eldar of Tir'sahras are so entwined in the Eldar Path that almost none bar those on the Path of the Warrior will ever take up arms. In their forces you will see almost no Guardians, the artisans and poets to consumed in their own works of lament to do battle. Even the Seers resent wielding their Witchblades in anger, though they do so grudgingly. This also means that the Craftworld has a much larger number of Outcasts, as following the Path so strictly weighs heavy on the hearts of many. Sometimes the Outcasts are welcomed back into the community, but this is rare, thus the population of Tir'sahras is one of the smallest of all the Craftworlds.

Its seems that the Eldar of Tir'sahras feel they must repent for past indiscretions, as they have been voracious in their pursuit of the followers of Chaos, aswell as any fellow Eldar who they see as having fallen from the graces of fate. They have been known to seek out and destroy Eldar pirate fleets, no matter their loyalty. For this reason, as well as their past, they are greatly mistrusted by the other Craftworlds. Despite this, they do maintain the friendship of several Exodite worlds, whose dour attitudes seem to perfectly match those of Tir'sahras.

Looking good so far, nice blue on the hawk and skin on the ranger especially. Like the little fluff start too, and list is good - haven't seen many new Eldar lists with warlock councils.

You said you played a few games, any luck? Solid list like that should stomp pretty hard, but I'm mostly curious about the 3x destructors in the council and how you use them.

    Looking forward to more!

Yes I played a couple games. but not with the 2000 point list. I only played a combat patrol against Eldar (which I lost), and a 1000 point game against Guard (which I tied). The thing is though, both the lists I used were very different than my mechanised 2000 points (thats obviously hard to do in 400 points). But the games did remind me of what the Eldar play style is all about, and I remembered how much I love it ...

Great start. I like your take on the Eldar -- dark, as opposed to brightly primary colored. Looks very "grim distance of far future."
(Assuming I'm seeing things clearly. It's a little hard to tell exactly what your color scheme is because the pics are dark.)

Funny, I was going for the same theme myself with my Tir Na Sàr-dhochair. I'll keep an eye on this place.

The base colour-scheme is dark grey body suits with turquoise hemets, with slight variety depending on the unit. The Swooping Hawks have blue highlights on the grey, the Fire Dragons have dark red. All my armies are very dark, it is just my style.

What theme is that exactly? I remember reading your Craftworld naming thread, I hope something did not seep into my mind subconciously...

My planned scheme for the DAs is reversed of the normal scheme, basically turquoise for the body suits and the dark grey for the helmet...

    Thanks for the comments!

I think your pictures need a lot more lighting. Try and get some desk lamps and place them around the modle so they shine from all directions eliminating a lot of the shadows. The pictures are tad dark so I'm finding it hard to critique your paintjobs. They do look crisp and clean which is always good.

I finally got some more shots. This is my 1000-point army, pretty much all WIP. I think the lighting is alot better. Hopefully you all agree .

Well I did some work on a DA tonight. Really just mapped in the Turquoise, but it gives a much better impression of what they will look like in the end... of course, they will get bone weapons just like everyone else...

    C&C appreciated.

Been a while since an update, lost the cord to the camera, oh well...

I have my WIP Farseer on Jetbike, I am working on some freehand on the main hull, which I am pretty happy with so far...

Neat conversion! I've seen quite a few attempts using the vyper as a base, but you've pulled off the best one so far.
I know its still a WIP, but the blue on the nose needs some touching up along the edges. The bone colored engines are quite nice though.
