Amazing progress lack, I too would like to know what 'turret' you are using for the shadowsword, it's perfect.

I guess this questions already answered somewhere here, but: you wouldn't happen to have templates for those things...and I guess you've got my e-mail address...

Anyway, those tanks look awesome. Keep at it and by the time you've finnished, I'll have to dig out my eyes, so I'd stop crying about how beautiful they are...so...ummm...keep it going!

Im gonna send out one more round of templates this weekend then just post em on BWC/BMC2 a yahoo group for scratch builders, cause i just cant keep up with the amount of e-mail request. Im gonna put any/all templates i make there in the future.

    To answer the questions
-Red plasticard is just thick plasticard i got for cheap it is textured on one side, i use that side when i want a little more "chaosness"

-The treads for all 3 tanks came from 3 different tank kits, all 1:35 scale. As long as you get MOST any 1:35 scale model the tracks should be a decent fit.

-The turret for the shadowsword is from a AS-90 howlitzer. A WWII british vehicle i believe.

I did manage to space the treads futher apart on Baneblade 2 & shadowsword so the look a bit beefier.

    BANEBLADE/SHADOWSWORD DAY 7

Did about 3 hours work tonight, got the sponsons on both tanks. Not detail strips just the main structure. But a good nights work. The amount of work ahead of me seams to be getting much smaller the further in a go.

For example, i was realy dreading the tracks, after the tracks the sponsons, and the turrets are the only main large work i have left, after that its all fun and details. (i think detail stuff goes much smoother & more fun then the big stuff)

THe cannon on the shadowsword will be smaller later, right now its just a loose fit, ill eventualy lop about 2-3" off of it. Theres also a guardmen heavy weapons team onto of the shadowsword for scale.

    cute doggy!

Only thing I can say is a little more detail on the rivets, the angle of the cut seems a bit off on some, apart from that, wicked!

I posted the Baneblade template to BWC after you sent it to me because that's where I found your warhound titan template to begin with.

    BANE/SHADOW DAY 8

2 more house worth of work, Progress list
-Banding on sponsons, short of weapons & rivets side sponsons are done
    -Added all fuel drums
-Added Smoke pipes and few other details
    -Added all turret seals.
-Added 2 long strips of banding on the track housing of the shadowsword.

I like working the tanks side by side but im about to the point where the similarities are soon going to run out. At that point my adjenda will be
    1) finish baneblade #2 hull
    2) finish shadowsword completely
    3) finish baneblade #2 turrets
    4) paint

@jasevx, i know my rivit cutting isnt that great i wish i could say "its to add more chaosness", but when yuour going on atlaest 200 of them (i would guess) on the titan & baneblade 1, i really try to do it fast to save time, so thats where the quallity suffers.

@Xyxox i did see both themon there they other day, thanks for posting.

Look at that face, those eyes......the dog was framed. The cat did it, the cat made chewmarks "copy catting" the way the dog would.

    Nice toy tanks too

Re: Lack0F's ScratchBuilt Titan, Baneblade and all other things

I dub these the Lackof Pattern Baneblade and Lackof Pattern Shadowsword.

Lackof is a Forgeworld coming back into it's own. In the Heyday of the Great Crusade, Lackof produced many Baneblades, Shadowswords, Stormblades, Stormswords, and Titans, . During the Horus Heresy, the crews of many turned to Chaos, thus Lackof Pattern Baneblades, Shadowswords, Stormblades, Stormswords, and even Titans can be found in the ranks of both Chaos and the Imperial Guard

Awww man.. everytime I see these, a little bit of my Imperial heart ticks like a cog, and my faith in the Adeptus Mechanicus kindled, just a little bit more...

After you finish these, and have a game with them, take photos of the armies milling about the tanks, and the expression of the opponents.

Re: Lack0F's ScratchBuilt Titan, Baneblade and all other things

Thanks everyone, should work on it some more on saterday. No update today. I did paint a wizard for my empire fantasy army.

    BEFORE

    AFTER

@MF3000 i did get the run the baneblade in a city fight game the other day, but i taticly used it wrong and it didnt do much. However it did survive the whole game with all ist structure points. It only suffered a "gun crew shaken" result. Other then that it was unharmed.

Heres a pic from a small siege battle i did with the warhound 3000pts a side, the warhound died in that game, mainly because it was facing an eldar titan which i completely ignored, i blasted away his army with my titan, i think turn 5 his titan killed mine.

@XYXOX decent enough start for fluff but it needs to have a better name me thinks. and story line of how the guard got the tanks, chaos just dont go handing that stuff out.

Re: Lack0F's ScratchBuilt Titan, Baneblade and all other things

Those titans will do that... I played in a mega battle like that and when the Warhound's plasma reactor blew... it took half an ork army and an undamaged super heavy battle wagon with it.

    Keep up the good work.
Inquisitor Konig: At Warhammer World they serve Bugman's Beer, but I don't think they brew it there...

    Lackof is 100% appropriate!

And the Forgeworld is coming back into it's own again, thus it is building the Lackof pattern vehicles again.
