    Re: Sheeps Laying a log

Okies gents, done some more work on the voth 5th.

    Almost finished the Command chimera

Added melted snow and mud to the tracks fitted the whip aerial, and base coated the stowage.

Undecided as to whether to leave the hvy bolter like it is (black with edges picked out in Mithril silver - realism) or paint it GW style with grey highlights. Inout appreciatted.

@Wulf, the autumn guys will become purely drop troops again, and the vehicles will be repainted in this white wash scheme.

    Cheers

Also i've progressed apace with the hydra. Not as happy with the weathering on this bad boy, but i can live with it.

Let me know what you think.

They are fantastic - they look like someone buried them then dug them up 20 years later. I love the weathering effect (though I am a marmite person myself).

Is the titan WIP or finished, the metal looks a bit flat and clean (though it may just be the photos).

As a side question, are you going to be doing any infantry in white(ish) uniforms to go with the new look tanks?

Just a reassurance here; you said you were repainting tanks, you mean you're doing the new tanks in winter scheme, and not painting over the autumn ones I hope?

    The autumn scheme is fantastic.

Fantastic work sheep!! Really the Hydra is one of the best IG tanks I've ever seen modeling+painting. I love the chipping and while it's not overall as uber realistic as some of the realistic modellor's stuff outhere, it's table top perfect.

I just repainted the destroyer last nite, so yes the tanks are getting repainted in the new scheme it hurt to do but i just can't have tanks from 2 differnt armies together, drives me mental.

I may revisit the autmn schem sometime in the future.

Its a product from a german company called "heki" and the sruff is called "Landschaftsgestaltung, Modellbau + Basetelmaterial - Schneeglitzer"

Bought it from the local train modeling shop. Mix equal parts with gloss varnish and apply to the tank.

    Hope that helps.

I think the scheme works very well Sheep; will there be many DK in this army?

    Thankyou

Plan is to have all the infantry as DKOK, i've just purchased the last (i hope)

As it stands my Dkok minis include
    1xHigh command
    1xKommisar
    2xInfantry command
    4xInfantry squads (no at ease)
    1xDK greniders
    ?xconverson hvy weps

Ok so some progress has been made, I painted this for GD here in Oz, entered in Open category, made it into the top 10 i think, i missed the judging so i don't know.

    Very very nice mate.

I love your new armour, the weathering is great and I love the Hydra conversion.
Just one thing, aren't they meant to be twin linked or have you found a fluff way around that?

And what's this I hear about a titan?

    Thankyou sir.

Yes its supposed to be twinlinked, but i modeled it after the Tunguska Russian Close air defense tank, the justification is that it fires small rockets/missiles as well as the gun, hence twinlinked

    Does that pass

There is a tian, its almost finished i just need to gather the painting mojo to attack it again.
