Steal away mate, though if i get another one i will be painting it differently, flesh is hard to do on something this big. Good luck.

Which bases in particular? I agree i have to do something about the mud on the tank, but i've never seen snow, so any tips on what it could do to improve it?

I can't help with the modeling aspect, but I live pretty far north so I'm pretty familiar with snow. I was thinking what you had there was ice & frozen mud, but he's right it needs something more, it's too smooth. There should be particles of both dirt and sharper edges to the snow/ice. Snow, by itself, is powdery like fine white sand (something you might be more familiar with) when it's cold. Snow is more clingy than sand since it usually melts a bit when it gets on a warm body and should probably be depicted as sticking a bit to the models legs and bottoms of their trenchcoats. Well, I'm not sure if that'll help your modeling, but hopefully it might help your visioning.

Its the fact that the mud needs to have more colour variation, and that in half the pictures I've seen it looks fairly glossy. Most of the time mud's pretty damned drab and matte, only when its certain soil types, water concentrations, and sitting in the right conditions, do you get a glossy effect.

    Fantastic titan.

For some reason I started laughing when I saw the crew. Maybe it's the demon in me.

Hello all, well long time no see or post, i've moved house and only just gotten the net back on. I've done a bit of painting recently and will get some pics up ASAP.

Cheers for that, i'm not happy with the mud on them either, i'm thinking of rebasing them all. My motivation for krieg has died in the **** though, so i have to do something soon to justify the $700 outlay.

The method i used was basically a pin wash, painting the brown colour over the detail, and only the detail.

    Wow! Very impressive weathering.
Very disappointed that I haven't checked this thread before (probably because the title doesn't elude to the army contents). And I see it's 2 years old! !!!1!one!

Ok... since it will take me some time to go through all... 1,2,3... 38 pages and counting... would you care to share your weathering technique (again?)?

Is it salt and lots of coats of paint? Industrial Masking agents?

Its vegimite mate applied with a blister pack sponge, sprayed or painted over the top, let the paint dry, then wash the models in warm soapy water. voila

well... anything similar we can use here in the States?

edit; after reading my own link... anything similar and more common we can find here in the states without trying to find a specialty foods store in the middle of Bumfuct-nowheres-ville?

I'm sure it's available somewhere, just not anywhere near me for a good 300+ miles in any direction... DANGIT!!
So, just have to figure out something more commonly available with the same ease of use.... table salt, here I come...

So everyone knows about black reach, well heres my marines from that box, 2 weeks work, not my best but they're done until i get the urge to battle damage them up.

Nothing spectacular, but they were quick and easy.

    Woo go Sheep go!
Love the carapace on the nids.

As far as the weathering goes, salt works just as well. Dampen the area, put the salt on and spray. When dry, scrape it off with a toothbrush. No Australian foodstuffs needed!

You Ammobunker-ians need to get back over here from time to time!

Awesome nids! The I.F. are pretty sweet too, but I have a soft spot in me for nidzilla lists.
Do you have any close ups of the carnifexes and tyrants?

Always did love the Behemoth scheme. If you've got to go with a stock scheme, might as well do the best one.

EDIT: Wait... there's two with the Tyrant head, and they have modified armored forearms and are on medium bases. Tyrant Guards?
