I love that squad! The flag is cool, it's a nice contrast but not too offset. And I also like the orange plasma coils. Usually I'm a strong advocate of contrasting colours, but your Krieg have a great overall tonal quality, which I'd rather not interrupt.

I love that camo scheme, but red and orange like that do not go together imo ... each his own taste, that's why we paint our own models the way we like ehm, not how someone else does

As i said in the tut, i give them a light dry brush of bleached bone before, and after the wash of devlan mud. The pants are Vallejo german grey, washed with devlan mud, GG, GG and adeptus battle grey mix, and then straight ABG.

    Hope that helps mate.

I think they look fine as is. But if you change em (which you should not), go with the blue. BUt other than that, they are just awesome.

I like the plasma how it is, but I think blue might just be a *tad* better. But I guess it's just personal preferance.

Orange plasma and red banner look good. It keeps the scheme very 'tight'. though the plasma could get lost if there's a lot of 'em.

Cheers guys. Glad the consensus is swinging towards the orange coils.

Birch seeds? I might hunt around for some myself! Looks like a good idea.

    Re: Sheeps Laying a log

I'll say it again, but I think the red coils look great. If you did decide to change them though, I would agree that an almost white blue would be better than green.

Also, dont think I mentioned before but I love all the little squad markings and icons. Details like that really make a well painted model really special in my "obsessional for detail" eyes.

Looking forward to more mate, whats next on the cards?

    Cheers,

    Dante

    Re: Sheeps Laying a log

Thanks mate Really glad you like it.

I've just painted squad and company markings on the squad i've already done, i've assembled another squad, and started work on the halftrack.

    Re: Sheeps Laying a log

    Firt off, everything looks great.

Secondly, I like the red on the plasma gun. When I scrolled down further from the squad pic and saw the kneeling guy with the blue bit on the plasma gun(and hadn't yet read the text there) I laughed out loud, thinking that the red one was of course obviously overheating, while the pic of the blue one was "normal". You could do some of each!!!

I like the fist one in the squad though. It's good to be different sometimes, and your version just looks dangerous to me(which of course suits the weapon). You could do the coils like they were glowing metal instead as you have them now, and with a "Get's Hot!" one really glowing brightly.

    Re: Sheeps Laying a log

    Thanks mate :-)

I've got some pics of the WIP halftrack for you.

What i started with, an armature made out of lego, i took the top bumps off with an orbital sander.

Shortened and lowered chimera tracks, plasticard top plate, deepened the turret.

Detail shot of the removable top plate.

A shot of the WIP wheel/tyre i'm attempting to make, the Largest GW tyre i can find is too small, and i'll be buggered if i'm paying $65 for an ork trukk just for a wheel!

Any way, any help you can give would be greatly appreciated, i am alittle concerned that it may be a bit big, but i'm modeling it on the MRAP/251 Sdkzf, which will ofcourse mean a biggerized Russ when i get to it/them.

    Cheers

    Re: Sheeps Laying a log

it's huge! maybe too huge... looks like it's twice the size of a regular chimera and couldn't that give it a disadvantage with the LoS-rules and all?

looking forward to see it finished!
