It was and wasn't, the foam got a coat of PVA, and a coat of texture paint, then 2 coats of rough coat which is what did the damage, no idea how it was affected

I based them in bronze and the verdigris is a wash. it went on, dried, then dry brushed shining gold.

The army is going on hold for awhile because i'm joining the army, and so won't have the spare time.

The guy that donated them had already destroyed it, so we reassembled the torso, the legs and groin were beyond saving though

It's a way to remove imperfections from the surface, or to add texturing to a surface, depends on how you apply it. It's from Gunze.

    http://www.swannysmodels.com/Surfacer.html

"While I am personally focused on model aircraft the possible uses for this stuff extend far beyond this facet of the hobby. For Treadheads you can use this to make weld seams, antislip surfaces on the tops of tanks and on the base for accumulated mud and dirt."
There's an Osprey book on modelling armour, a bit like the FW masterclass, but more on assembly and conversion than the FW book has, that goes over it and has some great examples in it as well.

Sheep, just have to say, finished reading this log after 7-8 days of reading during/after work.. Lovely stuff, Very impressive camo pattern on your Krieg, I have a similar, though using the Canadian JTF2 Black carapace armour and Dark Green camo pattern in a similar vein as yours.

Tanks looks really good. I am definatly subbed to this plog, as you bring alot of great ideas to learn from. keep up the good work

That made me cringe for a second there!!

The statues were really effective, if i ever get around to making any scenery, i may have to try that method.

Simply amazing work, I just subscribed to keep track of all the great painting in here. I'm thinking of starting IG, and was planning on using the Pig Iron Kolony heads on the Cadian bodies, and I may have to *ahem* borrow this camo pattern. Though, I have to say, I've done Oakleaf and Pea Dot before...on 15mm Germans. Let's just say I dreamed in Pea Dot for days on end and leave it at that.

Love the Mortians by the way, you should send pics to the folks over at heavy-support and show them how sexy their tanks can look.

Keep up the outstanding work, will wait anxiously for the next update.

    Thanks everyone.

Well played in the tournament this weekend, and did pretty well in the games, W/2 L/1 D/1. And i won Players choice!

I'll be going on hiatus for a while as I begin my basic training in a couple of days.

I'll see you all round these traps in the future.

Finally, a holiday from Sheep's log haha! What will you be training for? I'm afraid I couldn't work out the abbreviation you referred to earlier in your plog.

Enjoy your hiatus if you can, mate. Thanks for an awesome plog so far! Can we have an army shot of all the painted stuff before tho? :P
