    Magnetized Terminators

Hey guys. Ive got some of the new Terminators headed my way and due to the fact that they cost approximately $6 million a model, Id like to rig them with magnets for optimal flexibility. Do any of you have an American retailer (on the web or not) that sells the ideal sized magnets. Also, what magnets am I looking for? Im not sure of a name, size, etc. Thanks.

Oh, finally, got any tips for rigging them in there? Im not inept when it comes to conversions, but Id rather get the tips before I start working on the stuff. Thanks.

You're definitely looking for magnets called Rare Earth Magnets. They're very small, and rather strong; perfect for conversions just like this. To get them attached to your Terminator you'd need to make a small hole for them to fit into, and glue them into place. People with more experience with these magnets will certainly be more helpful than I am.

This is probably exactly what you're looking for.

I'm afraid that's about as useful as I can get... I haven't purchased, or worked with, any magnets to be used with 40k miniatures.
I would suggest that those players who think that paper tanks are cheating or disrespecting the hobby should see if they can track down a copy of White Dwarf #132. - kelvingreen

this may sound obvious, but when you use the magnets check to make sure you set them so their poles are opposite before you glue them in place......

The magnets on the top of the list Puffin posted is probably the best option. It's small and strong! (Pull Force - 2.14lb/971g)

Try a google or ebay search for rare earth magnets restricted to the US and you'll find lots of suppliers.

Alright, Im thinking about buying the magnets at the top of the posted link (thanks by the way). Are there any magnets that come smaller than that by chance? Thanks guys.

http://www.kjmagnetics.com/ are awesome. I ordered a handful of magnets after work one Friday, and they were on my doorstep when I got home on Monday. They're pretty cheap, too.

The D2Y1 size (1/8" x 1/32") is what you're looking for. I bought a whole bunch of the 1/16" x 1/32", and found they didn't have enough oomph to hold arms or weapons with any real commitment, though I do use them for heads, and as a secondary magnet for backpacks (i.e. One 1/8" with a 1/16" above it to keep it straight).
