I thought about that and have seen some pretty good conversions, but my attempts to replicate them have been lackluster. RI'd rather just wait for a kit at this point.
Yours are pretty good though, razor.
Does anyone have an opinion on Mekboy Junkas from IA8? They seem pretty much superior to Looted Wagons in most ways, but they are pricy. They're available as dedicated transports for Big Meks and are valid for Codex Orks.

Kommanda Shinbash's Misfits - 1500 pt Orks
Thanks Theo. I think they are pretty good. I have converted 4. I think the key is using current models for Crew where possible. Or current bits for weapons.

I felt so embarrassed fielding my outdated rokkit buggies that I made a three strong squadron of wartrakks using bikerz and grot tanks. With a little patience a I managed to fix the rider, fuselage and front wheel onto the grot tank put spare boyz heads coming out of the turrets. With a few leftover rokkits from Deff Dreads and Kans I had some killer new FA. I shudder to think what I paid for three wartrakks but I think it's somewhere around a £ per point...

I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?tu43fl
This weekend I'm going to be facing Eldar and Necrons.
Any recommendations for taking on Eldar?
The issue I had with the last time I played my friends Eldar was they were too mobile.
He brought his wraith lord up to slow my trukks down and kept backing up and shooting. I felt like I was playing catch and kept falling short of reaching him and shooting him.
I recent got some Kans and Dreds. I'm not sure if it's worth working them in or sticking with Boys in Trukks and BattleWagons.
As for Necrons, how to you wade through the massive short range firepower they have? Just plow through and hope to get into CC?
When facing enemies like that, only one Ork you can call to helP you out. Snikrot. He will put the fear into any back peddling enemy and parking lots. He messes with people's heads from deployment on. The fear of him should allow your trukks to hit his line. I usually used a warboss with him to add more krunch to things. In 2k games, use Ghaz and watch your opponent literally wet himself.
I was hoping to see some talk on the ork flyers. I am kinda impressed with bomber. Of course it has the random ork fun but it gives me some anti tank and infantry. Any thoutghts

Quick question(s).
I am looking to jump ship, and stop collecting a ton of armies, to focus on 1 in 6th. The Dakkajet has made my choice for me. :]
That said, is this AT ALL a decent list? This would be my starter 1500.
Warboss, Bike, PK
Big Mek, KFF
6 Nob Bikers, various Wound Allocation abuses.
1 x 10 Shoota, Nob, PK, in Truck
2 x 20 Shoota, Nob, PK, in Battlewagon + Deff Rolla
2 Dakkajets (maybe 1 Dakkajet + 3 Deffkoptas?)
Or would I be better off dropping the bikers, and using a normal warboss/nob squad.

The Jet may make me get into Orks as well!
? Can a Battle Wagon be taken as a dedicated transport and not take a Hvy slot?
For Nobs it can.

I don't mind those old buggies or trukks or even the much older metal wartrakks. I don't use the "multimelta" or whatever gun it was though, i kitbash most ork models to some extent so mine has rokkits made from some sort of industrial wall fixings which look a bit like ork fat-bodied rokkits. I pilfered them like any good dethskull. What i found usefull about the buggies and trukks is their smaller silhouette, they're easier to fit behind low walls, meaning that you can actually drive up to things and make an attack with skorchas etc before getting blown up.

Played a KP game against Necron's. That Storm Lord is insane! I don't mind it keeping the place dark, as it was more helpful to me then him but calling down lighting every turn when it's nighttime!? That power alone killed a battlewagon, two looted tanks, a Kan, and a handful of orks. If it had not been for that power, I would had won KPs.
My MVPs where Komando's, Snikrot, and a WB. They marched on and took a few units on Necrons out. A Boyz mob of 30 with a wierdboy didn't do have bad either! He felt it wasn't worth dumping that much firepower just to get 2 KPs, so they pretty much had the run of the place!
Whats the best unit size for Deffkoptas ?
I try to keep em as small as possible, to the point that i now use 2-3 one man units. I got sick of seeing 1 get shot down then watching the other 2 run away due to crappy LD7.
GM:"You awake to a beautiful morning, the forest is peaceful as a zephyr whistles through the tree branches"
Bob:"A Whistling Zephyr? I waste it with my crossbow...ha I rolled a critical hit...28 points of damage, is it dead?"
GM:"What? of course not you *****, it just carries on whistling thru the trees"
Sara:"Guys relax a zephyr is just a breeze"
Bob:"Breeze my ass, it just took 28 hit points and it's still whistling at me!"
What about maxing them ?
I suppose a 5 man squad might work, at least then u have to take 2 casualties before they have a chance of running away. The problem I have with that would be that you end up investing alot of points into something which can still only target 1 unit, in terms of efficiency i think 3 x 1 with rokkits & buzzsaws would perform better than 1 x 5 with rokkits for the same points.
I guess it just comes down to individual styles of play, but i find the ability to scout attack upto 3 vehicles 1st turn before they even get a chance to move and then the potential to harass another 3 units per turn far outweighs the volume of fire and slight survivability boost from running a full squad.

I don't recommend it. Sure you need 2 casualties for a morale-check, but 3 casualties and you get to watch 90+pts worth of models endlessly flee off the board. Plus a large group isn't that much more difficult to deal with than a unit of 2, yet costs a boat-load more. Keep 'em cheap and expendable is my take on deathkoptas, especially due to their piss-poor morale and lack of bosspoles. Keeping them to units of 2 also makes it easier to hide them behind terrain.
Warbuggies/trakks are another story. Even tricked out they're still cheap, and don't suffer at all from morale problems like Koptas. Still not sold on the un-orky looking plane. The pricetag is just way too much for what is arguably the worst flyer in the game, even with 9 twin-linked shots. For 150pts I can just buy a 2nd loota unit and get another 10 to 30 Str7 shots that will shut down another firing lane.
