Looking into ORKS anyone know if grit tanks from forgeworld are legal in regular 40k? do they have that "approved seal"?
as always with forgeworld - if your opponent says yes then it's fine.
in the case of grot tanks - they look so cool then any opponent should say yes.

Thinking about swapping the dakajets out for 3 deffkoptas and a dread , or just 6 deffkoptas (2 each). Thoughts ?

Okay, that makes more sence. Now in my opinion, theory hammer is mostly useless, you are never able to factor in every variable, and something that looks amazing on paper might perform horribly on the battlefield, and vice versa.
My advice would be to get the airplane. You have seen the model, you know you want one, and you can worry about it's effectiveness later. If you keep using it in battle, you'll find a good use for it sooner or later. Theory hammer can never give you the same tactical insight as real experience does.

Unless your not going to shoot, the body of your force is going to be moving very slowly to stay under the KF.

Hi I'm new here, hope this is the right place to post this!
I recently started 40k(about 2 months now), and so me and my friend are playing 500 point games just to start off. Anyway, I play orks and he plays Dark Eldar, and so far I have lost every gameCould some veteran ork players give me some advice please?
My current list is:
HQ - Big mek with KFF
Troops- 1 20 man squad of shootas, with rokkit and big shoota, and 1 10-man squad with big shoota
Heavy- 3 Killa Kans with big shootas
Elite- 8 Lootas
Usually he uses a venom with splintercannons and 3 trueborn, two also with splintercannons, a raider with wracks and a haemonculus(or however you spell it), and a Talos. Oh , and a 5-man squad of warriors.
Currently he rips me apart in the first two turns so any advice would be appreciatedThanks!
Do you have nobs with power klaws leading your mobs? They can give those mobs some more punch (quite literally).
You'd also probably be better of with getting more boys into the 10 man squad if you can to take advantage of mob rule, and you could also try giving the 20 man squad the big shootas, and the small one the rokkit so your not trying to make the big squad do two things at the same time.
Do you shoot the lootas at the vehicles? I made the mistake of shooting them at infantry when I first started.
How much cover do you put on your boards? You could try putting some more on.

Well I did originally try using power klaws but it didn't ever do anything because he can easily destroy the whole squad in the first turn before they can get anywhere :/. I suppose we might not be playing with enough terrain, but his skimmer all go straight over it anyway. I am shooting at vehicles with the lootas but they haven't done anything in 3 games now and they all die in the second turn because DE are so fast, and have flickerfields 5+ save, as well as 4+ save if they moved flat out. To be honest there isn't really anything else to shoot at besides vehicles since everything he has starts off in raider or venom, apart from his 5-man squad of warriors. A big problem is the talos as well- it can kill all 3 kans in 1 turn! I'm beginningto think that it just isn't possible to win against DE as orks in small points games. I will try putting the two big shootas in the 20-man squad though, thanks![]()
The guy is very heavy on anti-infantry fire-power. Get some sort of vehicle for the boys (trukk or wagon) and he'll have a tougher time.
It's odd that you don't seem to find Lootas any good against DE, they should be shredding those skimmers.
I'd be tempted to ditch the Kans for more boys.

I was thinking about getting a trukk to try and out-manouver the wracks. But don't DE have really good anti-vehicle? And it only has 10 armour. Then again I suppose even if it protects them for 1 turn it could still be pretty useful.
AlsoI think the main problem with lootas is that every time I have used them so far I have rolled a 1 or 2 so they only get 1 attack. Do you think I should keep using them then? Because I was thinking of using deffkoptas instead. Thanks,![]()
