Amazing painting as usual, Mika!
I really like the skin tone you did on this mini. I'm working on the Ltd Edition Ogryn Berserker with Power Weapon at the moment, do you mind giving a tutorial about what colours you used?
I think this is the link to Mika's Photobucket:

is the zombie with the torn out arm supposed to be part of the lost and the damned chaos militia? it looks pretty sick
Mika, do you use glaze mediums for your glazes, or just extremely thin washes?
Blow my mind some more why dont cha. I wasn't even prepared for that one, just opened the thread and had my brain go pop. Ogryn Beserker = AWSOME. Keep it coming, ever model you add to the thread makes my more anxious for my own renegades.
Still going strong! I really love the glow effect you continuously achieve.
When in deadly danger
When beset by doubt
Run in little circles
Wave your arms and shout
I love that limited color palette you use...
Skin, clothes and metal and everything look so good together
Really nice ogryn I love the palid skin around the impants
Thanks for the comments guys!The zombie was a test mini, probably wonīt do any more of those, I have some work cut out with WFB zombies already. I do not use any glaze mediums, only dish soap every now and then. I Wenīt ahead and used a pin vice drill bit for the bionic arm, greenstuffed some torn up pieces of flesh around it, turned out quite revolting if I do say so myself. I was also thinking about painting on some bulging veins around the chem injectors, to make it look like the guy is being pumped full of combat drugs!
The flesh is done like this;
Basecoat: tanned flesh + catachan green + white mix.
Shade: a wash or two of basecoat color + black + tamiya clear orange.
Highlight: with basecoat color and from thereon by adding a mix of bone + white to basecoat color.
Glaze: purple ink + catachan green (Iīve only done this on a few bits, not really visible in the WIP pics).
Bruised parts;
Paint the flesh like above, then wash with regal purple + flesh basecoat color + black mix. Highlight with a purple + black + white mix. Then glaze with purple ink + shadow grey.
Definitely not for army painting, this recipe!![]()
Hmm interesting is the tamiya clear orange water based adn matt or does it have some shine to it?
Tamiya Clear Orange is alcohol-based, so it does nasty things to metallics if you're not careful.
By the way, Mika, looking at your recipe for skin I can tell you that with results like those you certainly have my army painting scheme planned out!
80 infantry and 5 Ogryns... *drools*
One more WIP, slowly getting there.. I reckon I pretty much nailed the eyes at least!Also notice remains of former victim on the drill, muahahahaa....

Is that just paint on the eyes? It looks photoshopped or actually lit. Hugely impressive. More angles please.

how long have you been painting to archieve theses masterwork quality? models you can be really proud of, when others drool in awe you know you have done the right thing by painting this impressive
*drools in awe*
Damn....... thatīs one nice mutant riiiight there! Man Iīm always blown away by your masterpices and this one is not different! The eyes spot on almost photoshoped as T-T said brilliant indeed. Love the drill as well and the veins on the back are perfect makes it look mutated and very sickly. A perfect mini and only in wip?!?! man thatīs just sick
keep it up

You've got to tell me, how did you do your commanders head? The modelling part I mean. I just can't find any masked heads with hats on.
