thanks for the comments guys
The camp, crashed aircraft and crashed ATV are my imperial objective markers. The smaller bases with the minis hiding away on hills I use as over watch markers.Ya more Epic stuff on Warseer. I like what I think are your objective markers.
One of the big projects I am meaning to get back into soon is painting my terrain. I done a bit ages ago
but most of the project I started (ie this one) only ever got undercoated
I still haven't really figured out what brand of paint is more affordable for terrain. Definitely need larger volumes of paint without paying too much or it would just get really expensive to buy enough colours.
Get waterbased acryllic colors, like a simple black, brown, and grey. then you can mix what you want and do drybrushes in GW or some other model color if you wish
Just a size comparison on the Giant and some WIP shots.
I tend to use GS to build things up in stages. Create the basic shapes first then add details (ie the scales)
Another thing I have found GS useful for is creating the wooden platforms using plasticard then drawing the wood grains onto a thin layer of GS.

The army controlled by Navis Nobilite House Belisarius is interesting, both the painting and theme. Good paintjobs overall.

I really like the idea of the House Bellisarius army. I really enjoyed the space wolf novels, and I am very jealous that I didn't think of something similar myself![]()
Looking fwd to some more pics of that army in particular, however I must offer some more congratulations on the quaity of the rest of the painting. Very nice.
Cheers

Ever since I read the space wolf novels I have really wanted to do two armies. A navigator House Bellisarius one (in 40K, Epic and BFG) and a Legion of the Lost and Dammed.I really like the idea of the House Bellisarius army. I really enjoyed the space wolf novels, and I am very jealous that I didn't think of something similar myself
The lost in the Dammed I ended up accepting I would never get to and bought an army someone else had done.
The Navigator House Bellisarius Army is my current 28mm scale project so I hope to finish it this year. It is going to be inter dispersed with a lot of Epic painting though as that is my favorite game (trying to get all my Khorne infantry based at the moment so I can paint them all).
For the Bellisarius army list I am planning on alternating between the D99, Normal Elysian and Guard lists with my standard selection of space wolves counting as a death watch kill team. I am basically trying to represent them as an elite force of well equipped and well trained troops that I would imagine the rich navigator house owning. I also think the guardsman should be more elite having space wolves involved in there training, mission planning etc. My idea is to use entirely drop trooping lists and really get in close and use the amassed power of lots of up close las guns to bring the fight to the enemy. Fluff wise I will justify the deep striking of the "space wolves" as combat insertion through jumping out of a low flying transport craft (since they are working for a rich navigator house with all sorts of special gear).
I prefer the idea of guardsmen desperately fighting for there lives in close quarters rather than gun lines. Hopefully that will work out for me with this army in terms of table top successes. If not it doesn't really matter as the great fun thing about playing guard is that you expect all the huge powerful aliens etc of the 41st millennium to kill them so its just as fun dying.
Just based the remainder of my Epic Khorne army which is probably around 6000 to 7000 points combined between a small legion of the lost and dammed list and a large list based on the black legion list.
As I got most of my miniatures second hand on old square bases I cut the bases of with clippers and a scalpel and cut new bases out of cereal boxes then stick the minis on using sellys knead-it or milliput. This provides a really strong base and hides the circle around the minis feet. For dreadnaughts, daemons and titans I generally base them on washers sticking them on with milliput.
Now I just have to paint around 3 units of CSM, a unit of Chosen, 8 tanks, and my daemons and the army will be complete.
The Khorne army is starting to come together now. All the base coating is done so I just need to add details as I get time.
You have way to much time on your hands!!
Brilliant painting, and it's great to see your gs sculpting, really class!
Narrr I just use as many tricks as possible to make army painting a fast and easy process instead of slow and laborious. You have way to much time on your hands!!
I made that mistake once with a space wolf army and it took me years to do. Painting everything carefully with neat lines when drybrushing, washes and other techniques could get a better effect for less effort.
Very large Khrone Horde - imperressive - how many points (I will say according to BL v3.7)

I can make up around 6000 pts using the black legion list and 1500 using legions of the lost and damed (will be combining factions for my lost and dammed army)Very large Khrone Horde - imperressive - how many points (I will say according to BL v3.7)
Been working on my Epic titan Legion. Hoping to get motivated and finish up my entire imperial force.
I have also been mucking around trying to start magnitizing things. As a painter first and gamer second I tend to paint up models with weapons options that can be less than effective. So to avoid needing to replace models I am going to make up the more expensive ones with all the options.

Can we get some shots of the Elysians? I like the red guns.
Interesting schemes for the Titan 'Lances' (to burrow a term from BattleTech). To me it does not seem like the army will have a united feel but that is me.

Yep pretty much no chance of that. I thought it would be nice to do an army that isn't all unified as the rest of mine are (ie the nids, khorne and space wolves). I figured titans would very rarely all be feilded together and that they were so important that they would all get there own colours like the knights of the past.Interesting schemes for the Titan 'Lances' (to burrow a term from BattleTech). There are some on page 1 of the post. Otherwise most stuff I have painted can be found hereCan we get some shots of the Elysians?

Along with a million other modeling and gaming projects all in one big folder, but its not so bad if you have broad band.
There's a lot great stuff in your Photobucket. Thanks for sharing.

I got a PM asking for details of the paint scheme on the Elysians so I thought I would post it here as well.
Fatigues painted shadow grey then drybrushed with space wolf grey.
Armour painted codex grey, dark cammo patter added with a mix of black and codex grey, lighter cammo pattern added with fortress grey. After highlighting fortress grey extreme edge highlighting was done by running the edge of the brush along all sharp edges with a very small amount of fortress grey on the brush.
Weapons, boots belts etc all undercoated in scorched brown.
Weapons then highlighted using layering with increasing amounts of blood red and a tiny hint of orange mixed in for a little bit of edge highlighting.
Leathers highlighted with a little bit of dwarf flesh mixed into the brown.
Flesh is dwarf flesh washed with flesh ink.
Basing is done using crushed granite to give a better looking texture with a greater mix of particle sizes glued on before undercoating and then drybrushed scorched brown, then beastial brown, then bleached bone. Bits of plasticard used to represent metal scraps with stippled with light oranges and metalic paints. Ink was also used to add some extra colour variation on the bases.
Visors were done with dark blue and then highlighted with layering adding in a mix of white.
Its a bit of a fiddly and time consuming scheme that I wouldn't necessarilly recomend embarking on for imperial guard infantry.
I really like the epic
