Obliterator Size compared to new Terminators

Im thinking of converting some Chaos Terminators and was wondering if anybody has used the lower bodies of the Obliterator's with the top bits from the plastic terminators. would the size fit (with abit of green stuff)

No it wouldn't fit, espicially with the size of the arms of an terminator, they wouldn't be able to reach to their own knee's if they had the obli legs (you know how they stand)

Oblits are considerable bigger then regular termies. What you could do ( if you are good with Greenstuff ) is get the legs and sculpt the upper body....It's qutie a project I know.

Kommissar Wulf has done this with some, IMO, great results. I'll point him in the direction of this thread.

Obliterators aren't that difficult to convert up to be Terminators. As Thud mentioned, I've done a few up. A few being 7 in total, as Plague Marine Terminators. The hardest big is removing all the 'fleshy' bits, assuming you don't want them. I didn't, so it invilved a lott of clipping, filing, dremeling and greenstuffing to cover it up, which is really the most time consuming part of the conversions.

Terminator Heads fit perfectly on Obliterators, and give you a head that's actually noticable, and which ties them in as Terminators. I found that the arms needed replaces aswell, as only the Powerfist one was really usable, and then only for power or chainfists... I found the arms from Inquisitor Tyrus from the Inquisitor range handy for that, but there's probably other suitable ones if you look hard enough...

So you can see what they look like:

    Greenstuffed Terminator
    Completed Squad
    Size Comparison 1
    Size Comparison 2

Hope that's of use to you. I should point out that I suspect that the back vents would be really hard to do. I avoided them by doing the Nurgle Vent things tha the Typhus Artwork had. I dunno what legion you're doing so I dunno if that's possible for you...

well im thinking of Nurgle Terminators, what i may do is use the 5 from the box set, a converted obliterator as the champ and then scrounge the bits for 1 more to make 7. ill have to see though and let you guys know how i get on. thanks for the pics though, thats the sort of size comparision i was after...

Bear in mind that's a current Chaos Terminator, the current plastic ones are more imposing than he is...
