    Darkness Rising

    Hi,

Has anyone got the new background book Darkness Rising?

It looks nice on the BL site preview, but tracking it down is proving difficult. (Sheffield won't have it in until Friday, Warhammer World didn't have it and Amazon will take a week and a half to send it..)

So what does everyone (who has it) think of it?

*Damn it, i've posted this in the wrong forum, i ment to put it in the Background section, mods feel free to move it there....*

I was thinking about it, but i haven't got it yet, cos i've just got WFRP2, any can only explain away so many 'geek book purchases' a month!

And SOC was a bit of a damp squib, so i didn't think the book would be particularly exciting.

I'm surprised about WW not having it in, the book was released on sat, and they're usually pretty hot on their release dates.
I remember i brought Blood on the Reik on it's day of release there.

    Re: Darkness Rising

Well my copy of Darkness Rising came this morning, and i have to say im not overly impressed. Having bought Loathsome Ratmen yesterday i had a real "wow!" moment when i opened it up and had a look at all the awesome artwork and large amounts of text. But Darkness Rising was more of a "......s'alright" moment.

It doesn't help with 90% of all artwork being seen before (most of the art is either the black and white images found in the chaos army book, but coloured in, or the pircures used on the front covers of the army books and boxed regiments) Although there is a picture of the fabled Mole rat that was rumoured to be part of the Eshin list, and boy is it one big rat..

I havn't actually read the book yet, but BL have done what they always do with their background books and made i look like someone from the Empire has written it, which i think is ace.

Overall it's a nice product and well worth keeping just to read every now and again to remind yourself of the event that was the Storm of Chaos campaign (although as Jedi said the campaign itself was rather average) but i wouldn't buy it expecting a visual feast...
