Finished! Not sure happy with him, but I think its a good start to using techniques like NMM and such. These are such small models, their detail is very difficult to paint...I enjoy the challenge, however

Looks gorgeous Frost. I'm going to attempt painting NMM on mine too (only been painting seriously since last september), but I understand the theory so really i hope it turns out looking atleast decent.
I've got a bunch of minis on the way, Nomad starter set, and a blister of Hellcats along with the rulebook, and 3 PanOc blisters for my little brother.
There's quite a bit of interest brewing where I live!
very nice model. i'm fan of the infinity minis (and i have a few ones to paint). yours have a strong "comics look", and i like it !
Do you think it'd be in bad taste to paint their "shell" green or turquoise?![]()

Sweet painting, as always!

That looks awesome. Very well done, the base looks a little rushed though.
Smaller then 40k? Would you be able to post a pic next to a marine or something?
Can't wait for more.

Check page 1, sheepIm going to give the base a bit more love, but I dont want them to have too many layers of highlights and take away from the model.
Thanks for all the comments guys, Ill post a better pic of this dude later tonight.

That turned out really nice. The rifle looks great.I'm going to try sans-metallic on mine as well.
I also really like your hazard striping. It would be a royal pain, but if you extended the hazard stripe to the side of the base it would look really smokin' for your front arc indication.
Looking forward to some more.
Yeah, Im not sure what Im going to do for forward arc...I think Im going to mark the base somehow, just not quite sure yetIm not really happy with the stripes... I think Im gonna redo em, I was just sort of rushing them and it shows.
Thanks!
I might start a log, unfortunately I'm not the greatest painter.. but I am going to try my best and just have fun with these minis when i get them, I think 4-5 people are starting right now where I live. Hopefully we'll beable to organise a gaming night at the local shop. (and get more folks into it!)
I'm going to post you a picture of my last painted model and Empire Captain
(I don't mean to steal your thread! but tell me how i can improve.)

Thats pretty decent actually, maybe some more work on the white skulls to tone it down a bit. Since they are on his weapons I would have done them in metals to show them as forged etc.
Need more infinity from FF now =)
Nice painting there Frost. Don't really like the model but you;ve apinted it very nicely![]()
The face could have a wash of Brown Ink and then a highlight of Elf Flesh, and the same goes for the griphon "kid" (what's the term in this case? I'm not sure kitten will work), although the highlight will be Bleached Brown. The brown feathers are dark enough, but some lighter highlights would work wonders, and then you'd need to paint the skulls from the beginning with (one of these colours or a similar yoou have or want to use) Snakebite Brown or Graveyard Earth, and then highlight with Vomit Brown or Kommando Khaki and then Bleached Bone and at last a fine highlight of Skull White. The metal looks really good actually, so I can't give you any advice at the moment.

asecondtoolate: thats a pretty solid model...you definately understand how to layer, my suggestion would be to push it a bit further, and build up more layers of color on the figure. His flesh and beard could probably use a bit more love. The metal areas look good, and so do the fabricKeep practicing, it makes perfect!

Woah. Those miniatures are bad-ass.
Really like the style... too bad their website doesn't show 'em off as nicely as GW's does. Not really being hit with the "BUY-BUY-BUY!" feeling.
...Which is probably a good thing.
Anyway, good work, keep 'em coming.
Well after much browsing and debating in my head which faction I liked, I finally decided to throw my lot in with the nomads as well, and hopefully my box should be in the mail in the next couple of weeks. Infinity has another convert.
