    Keep Akamanah working

Well, with the last person in my area that plays 40k calling it quits I've found myself with little motivation to continue painting. So I will be making this, so that the wonderfull warseer community can maybe keep me working on my 40k stuff. Ok lets start the show. Currently I have a Chaos renegade army that i've been working on for some time. It's painted to a tabletop standard and in my excitement to get it done some models have slipped by the moldline scrappings, rest assured i will be going back and cleaning them up as much as possible(and then reapplying paint to the scratch marks )but remember these aren't showcase models so I'm not gonna worry to much about it. Also before anyone says anything none of the bases are done, they will be and I have the basing materials so maybe if enough of you bother me they'll get done sooner. Allright I think I've rambled enough and I know what you all came for is pics so I won't do you all dirty by not posting pics in my introduction. Behold!

OK currently I'm working on a couple Chosen in power armour(yeah thats right you didn't read that wrong) and a unit of havocs. Some of you with sharp eyes might have noticed some other models to the right of the previous pics and with interest from the community I'd be happy to show them. We'll see how this goes. Next is a Lt. with Kai gun I hope to start painting when I'm done with the Chosen.

There looking good. But the photos are a bit fuzzy. I don't have a clue how to fix that so just ask for other peoples advice. I use a scanner for my pics.

Paint that guy in the photo above my post next please.

Hey there, this is some really promising stuff. Keep it coming.

Just curious though, what kind of camera are you using? Maybe we can fiddle with its settings for some better pictures. Also, try doing more shots like that one of the Dreadnought - it's easier to see the detail when the eye doesn't have to fight with the colourful background.

That's a kewl Kai Gun. Unfortunately I kept getting distracted by the big GIR sitting in the background!

Hope you get some more players in your area soon. In the mean time, good luck painting your army.

Nice conversions, like the dread and kai gun. Oh, and: I'd love to see those models to the side! Pretty please??

I gave my girlfriend her own giant GIR a few years ago for Valentines. It's currently buried under a load of her dirty clothes, the mayhem safely contained ...

OK I've tried to clean the pics up a lil more with photoshop and put in a white background to keep eveyone looking at the models and not all the other toys and crap on my desk. The pics still aren't as good as I've seen on other peoples threads but I think they're better than the earlier ones I posted. Here's a pic of the place I keep my 40k stuff.

Aw, I miss GIR. And the cupcake!

Is it just me or are the Raptors a different colour from the Dread? Although I have just noticed grey areas on the earlier models so I'm guessing it's just the base colour.

I'm liking all the Jon Woo Raptors. Twin pistol slinging action!

Yeah the raptors are a lighter grey. eventually when i do the bases it'll make sense. I just wish the pics of them had came out better.

    Re: Keep Akamanah working

From the first post to the last your photo skills are improving so what ever you are doing there keep it up.

As for the models I like them, nice and clean looking. I especially like the Raptors. A small piece of advice that I think would really help all your models though would be to give all your metallic areas a thin wash of Chaos Black or a very well watered down Black Ink. They need to be very watery though. It will add a little depth and shadow without taking much time or effort.

Otherwise, looking good and keep it up!

Here's the Chosen sorcerer I just finished earlier. I still got a squad of havocs and another Chosen in power armor on the painting table. I also primed the Lt. with Kai gun, so when the next Chosen gets done I'll start the Lt. I didn't get around to putting a black ink wash on the metal but I think I'm going to practice with ink application tommorrow or actually later today enjoy and as always C&C is appreciated.

Looking at the above pictures anyone have any advice for getting sharper pictures? I'm getting tired of the fuzzyness.

    Re: Keep Akamanah working

if your doing this on digital camera i'd suggest turning on the slow-exposure function (usually a little picture of a flower for some reason), and mounting the camera on a tripod or on the table, as the slightest knock blurs the image, but the results are well worth it

    Re: Keep Akamanah working

A small update, I finished the Chosen in power armor and started the LT. with Kai gun. As soon as I get some new batteries for the camera I can put the Chosen up. Also the havocs should be done withen the next 2 days(I hope)
