I've only read the battle report (because it had Orcs).
Why did they let a Dwarf player use greenkins? The man tried to outshoot Wood Elves! With Night Goblins no less! What was he thinking?![]()
No points to spend on Fanatics? Well sure if you take six Trolls...
I'm surprised he did as well as he did, with a third of his army being useless (2 units of arrer boyz and a unit of Night Goblin arrer boyz).

The new Wood Elf stuff is looking good though (although I had seen most models in the various rumour threads here).
Pondering outloud:
why did yours arrive so early, I know about subscriptionms, but to my knowledge I thought it arrived on Friday? Maybe it's different in that Way you call Nor

I got mine on monday and I'm in Belgium.
Guess GW just doesn't like you![]()
Haven't read the Battle Report, but it sounds like it was more or less a faked game. Who in their right mind would try to outshoot Wood Elves with anything? And with Goblins?
Will flick throug the rag this Friday/Saturday. Not really expecting anything useful this time around either.

Hmmm - I have a subscription, and am in the UK, and have been told to expect mine by the weekend (so that'll be Monday then) gah - I'm moving to Norway...
Faked battle report to make the newly released army look good? Would WD ever get that low...Originally Posted by Serpent

About the report:
IMO, both lists weren't the smartest. And for the WE player: 5 wardancers in front of boar boys? T3 with a 4+ save max is NOT getting a unit like that survive! On the other hand, he was lucky the orc player made the same mistake as my opponent the day I got it: He sent the boar boys forward instead of holding a battleline (come on, 20 archers aren't whittling his army down that fast!).
Anyway, that wan't my biggest beef with the report. I dislike losing the full-battlefield photographs, and a seperate page for deployment (instead, I get a single column of tactic, without a pic to show for it! Haley, I blame you).
The rest: Not a huge lot of interesting stuff, though nice tutorial for the capillary towers.

Had a quick flick through before going to work.
As ever I'll comment on the 40K content primarily. My thoughts (with a little help from the UKWD 308 preview on GW website
- Creatures Great and Small: The new Codex: Tyranids allows more army options than ever before. Two veteran Tyranid players take different approaches to their armies; Phil Kelly opts for a teeming horde while Marco Schulze packs in the heavyweights.
Marco's 'Hivefleet Moloch' Godzilla army is featured, for those that have seen it on his website they are stunning conversions the winnged Tyrant is the best Tyranid conversion I've seen.
- Batch Broods: It isn't pretty, but it's quick! Guy takes us through how he painted a brood of Deathgaunts to accompany his Carnifex.
- 'Eavy Metal Tyranids: Keith Robertson shows us the lowdown on how to paint Tyranids real nice for Hive Fleet Kraken, Behemoth and Leviathan.
As I'm in the midst of paininting a 3000+pts Nid army quite interesting, not the sort of armour plate scheme I'd want to paint on hordes of gribbles though. Nid schemes are lifted straight out of the codex nothing new really.
- Tyranid Invasion!: In the wake of the first stages of a Tyranid invasion comes the living tide. Andy Hoare and Phil Kelly disclose what the second wave of this nightmare entails, while Dominic Murray builds a capillary tower.
Not had a good read of this yet but the terrain article on the capillary towers looks really good, might have a got at these myself
- Chapter Approved: The Battle for Cadia: A new node campaign, rules for Imperial Guard High Commanders, and a Thousand Sons special character!
Need to sit and read this one, might have a go at this as my regualr gaming partner is just finishing his Cadian Guard army.
Nice to see the BT special character Grimaldus (and servitor) being previewed in the NEWS section.
Probably more to follow...

When I'm done with these skaven and dark elf armies I'm gonna run into the woods and never come back. And when I come back I'm gonna be the *********** knife master.
Yes, Tomb Kings won against Bretonnia. Dark Elves lost, Orcs lost IIRC. The Necron one could hardly count as the scenario didn't exactly seem balanced.Originally Posted by Tom
Anyway, I noticed they are re-releasing Fury of Dracula and Warrior Knights. Anyone who have played those games?
