Hello, some of you already know me from my Space Marines thread. Those of you who do probably realize that this will be another very slowly progressing log. This time it is not power armored super humans on the list of to do things though. I managed to buy some DKoK from Ragnar Ohman and this is where you will be given the possibility to follow my progress with those guys. What I managed to get my hands on is:
1x Heavy Imperial mortar with crew and artillery tractor
1x Infantry squad, firing
1x Infantry squad, advancing
3x Mortar teams
So that is what is on the current list of Kreigers to be made. As you can tell I need an Hq choice and another troops choice before I can even play with them so those will probably be added later (and most likely a Grenadier squad as well, those models are just so cool).
I'm meeting Ragnar Ohman later today to buy them but there is one problem, and this is where I want your help. I've been messing around with a couple of color schemes but can't really find one that I like. I've decided to (just like so many others) make them WWII German styled. I am tempted to do some kind of German field grey scheme but I've also considered a winter scheme (which would be much more unusual, I haven't ever seen any brightly colored Death Korps). I'd like some suggestions from your part. Do you think that they would look good in some kind of camouflage? Would a winter-themed DKoK army be cool? Should I go with the crowd and just do them in various shades of grey? Any color suggestions?
Also I have some ideas concerning any future tanks. Do you think that it would at all be possible to convert a Leman Russ to look more like a PzKpfw IV ausf H (Google that name if you want pictures)? The main problem, as I see it would be the tracks and the suspension part, Leman Russes don't have any suspension... Also I would have a proper battle cannon on it. Another idea I've had in my mind is some kind of halftrack-chimera (halftrack as in SdKfz 251, again Google for pictures). I'm not a very experienced converter; I mainly paint so thoughts about these ideas from more experienced people would be greatly appreciated.
Anyways, pictures will be uploaded later today (and I'll clean my workspace to take the seemingly obligatory "workspace photo").
