ok I got some more pics coming I will post them as soon as I get home.
I finished the bunkers (cut holes in the other side) now you can actualy soot from them.
also I started on a random bit of jungle terrain based on a styrofoan cooler lid.
(lol a friend gave me a big pile of them his store was going to throw out)

Ok it was more like 2 days... i got distracted.

oh yea and a new bit of terrain.
(Wip)
i really like the wip terrain piece, as for the bunker: that models can actually shoot out of it, its great.
but on the other hand, i dont know about the main texture which looks metallic, i think it could improve somewhat, but i dont really know how to do this. all the other parts of the bunker are nice, especially the weathering
keep it coming ^^
Great stuff in here. Good to see someone making some budget terrain. (That is a compliment btw not an insult)
I really like the weathering you have done on the bunker's window hatchs but as the above poster said I think the metalic walls could do with some similar love.
I like the idea of using grape stems for trees but won't they rot after a while?

No offense taken.
oh yea grape vine is really tough stuff, plus I put some clear spray on everything. so I imagine it should last a few years.
any way heres some more progress, I'm trying to make up my mind
weather or not I'm gonna put some leaves on the bamboo or not.
what I did add was lots of layers of paint, lichen, some plastic ferns,
and some homemade flock (dyed sawdust), then I sprayed it down with some clear stuff.

i think i have those green plantlike things, too.
but.. can you tell me how you did the floor? it looks like its sanded and then.. what? i´m really curious as im still butting my head how to make ground like this...![]()
one thing I do different is that I use a soldering iron instead of a hot wire cutter.
This lets me texture the Styrofoam before I even sand it. then I use lots of white glue (Elmer's) then throw on some sand and pebble mix. Then i start painting (brybrushing) dark grey to grey to light grey, the dark green to medium green to bright green, oh yea I'm mixing acrylics on a palate. I also made my own flock by adding food coloring to some sawdust. and thats about it Bdo.
some sawdust, thats one nifty trick- i hope you dont mind that i will try to copy this way of creating floor (except for the food coloring) as i really really like it. thanks for the quick guide

shure go ahead and try it.
here's a better view...

I like the plants, in particular the small fern-like bits I see here and there. In regards to the food coloring/ sawdust flock, did you dilute the food coloring or add it straight (just curious...)
enjar
No I didn't, but maybe I should of. Because it's real powerfull.
oh another tip. the fern bits are straight when i cut them off the fake plant
I have ben using my glue gun to melt the backs a bit and give them some curves.

OK the last couple of days I have ben working on some similar pieces,
one has a piece of ruins on it (that I nearly ruined), and the other might have a large log on it... these pieces will provide cover you can probaly shoot from.
i´m eager to see pictures...
maybe with a few minis beside/on the pieces?
i certainly wouldnt mind to use these in a game as they look really nice (still...you know.. the metal on the bunker..) to answer your question in the first post of this thread
bdo
Oooh I like those ferns... where did u get them? The rust effect is nice too!

hmm (measures hand) ... they are about 7"x5" to 6"x4"
somewhere around that size.
