Finally I got the other side built and plastered.

Also I added a lot more timbers, and a bit of weathering.
Now i just have to do that to the new parts, and add Shingles.

Oh my, my, my, my.........the city is growing....soon it will be time for the firestorms. Soon the armies of what/whoever will be liberating the local treasure....um, I mean people. So will the town/city have a continuous wall of wood or stone OR a mix?
I am therefore I think OR I think therefore I am?

midway makes an awesome tool for cutting plasticard and wood so you can get very accurate measurements. this one is close to the one i have and they make one that has a little more blade depth.

i think midways is built a little better.

but i coulcnt find thiers and my camera batteries are dead, plus midways is cheaper.

mmm interesting, this is a very similar tool to what I'm using
except yours has the nice angle measurer...

I would use except this house prety much started out crooked...
so this probaly wont help much for this project... but I'll keep it in mind.

Question Re: N810's Jungle Terrain (building on a budget)

What kind of roof do you think I should use?

    Wood shingles ?

    Slate shingles ?

    Thatch roof ?

shingles look best in my opinion. Index cards work well here, make a strip and slice your tabs irregularly. make 1 row then overlap another and so on.

slate will have a more uniform look and wood shakes you wont really get the thickness and it to look right scale wise. so a combination of both maybe?

you could even try a clay spanish tile look, split drinking straws down the middle and cut to length and overlap.

that would be alot of work but the payoff might be worth it.

Shingles like the last photo, that brings back memories of Northern Italy, when we were there. Seeing those large construction crains that are needed to raise up those clay tiles when an ancient buildings roof needs repairing/replacing. We don't have a need for those indrustrial size crains for most of the home/house/condo/apartment dwelling roofs. Not too many clay tile roofs in my area.

Anyway thanks for the photos.....AND..... the electric prod to my memory cells.

disguise the rod a little bit (the darn thing broke, so I hot glued it on)

looking good! though one thing: is the body of the rider with glass varnish finished? looks really shiny, maybe a little bit too much for my taste - but i really love the base, good work, good work

i would go for this, as it looks nice and old - just appealing to me

if you varnish it use brush on varnish or tape over the clear rod or it will fog it up and look bad.

wow, no wonder you won a painting competition a few pages back. that really looks kick-ass, and on this pics i see that they aren´t that shiny as i thought before. how long did it take you to paint him like this? a complete army in this style and quality would look awesome *double thumbs up*

and you are right... the ctrl+alt+del comics are genius...

Well I plan on painting all my skinks like that one.
it probably took 5 hours to paint and assemble and base that one.
I did him cause so far I only have one of them.
heres an update of what I've been up to....
