Hello all, this is going to be the project log for the as of yet unnamed summer 08 campaign. This is a home brew campaign, and so far only has two players taking part, Myself and ‘Trilbydude@Dragon,’

Trilby will be using Space Marines – Sons of the Dragon
I will be using a specially created army list for the campaign – The Legions of Cerotid

In this log we will log our progress with our armies and what not. We have a year and a bit to prepare… mainly because the custom list will take a long time to get right, and then it will take a while to convert a useable army…

So hopefully it’ll all go good… enjoy

I’ll begin by introducing the idea behind the Daemonic Legion and Hordes of mutants, zombies and Cultists…. The Chaos side will comprise of two main lists; The Legion of Daemons and a slightly different variation of the LatD list.

    Hordes of the Damned
The Hordes of the Damned list can be broken into two sub divisions; the Mutants and the Cultists. The Mutant list includes not only mutants, but zombies as well, and may also get its own special character. The Cultists part of the list will contain Cultists, fanatics, champions, High Priests and another special character. All of these things will be converted, either from Ebob puppets or existing Games-Workshop components.

    Daemonic Legions
Led by Cerotid, a powerful daemon and perhaps minor patron in his own right, is a vast array of home-brew daemons and other nastiness. These will range from the power hungry souls of dead chaos followers to huge ravaging beasts of flesh and fear.

This is the list which I will begin the conversions for, the other will have to wait until later. To begin with I have ordered 5 Ebob puppets (not many I know) to create the foundation of the army, an HQ, a Troops and a Fast Attack. But that is only the beginning… I have also begun work on Cerotid himself. It I only an armature for the legs so far, but will expand up and out over time.

As you may or may not be able to see, he’s going to be big… he’s already roughly the size of a giant model and I’m only up to the waist… so keep your eyes peeled for more chaos mentalness…

The sun's getting to me and the torso armature for Cerotid seems a little out of proportion... but when I think about it, it really isn't... should be able to get some pics once the torso has dried and been plasticarded...

well... the nice and tidy frame I had ready yesterday was given the final pieces to complete its armature form for the torso... and it went to hell... the bits fell apart, the pins came out, the plasticard was too springy... it was a mess... It ended in an unfortunate looking combination of plasticard, sprue, green stuff, and white goo that was once super glue (which I doused it in)... But thankfully it is not sitting downstairs in the desired shape with an elastic band pulled tightly about it.... Once this is dry I will add pins for the head and arms to go on later and then affix the entire thing to the leg structure and reward all you patient people (or those who foresaw the doom of this project and left) with a picture of it standing next to agiant model for a bit of scale comparison...

Well… here’s my Cerotid WIP… That’s Miliput I’ve slapped on him… a whole pack in fact… I guess I’ll need two maybe three more packs… then I go over it with Green Stuff… He also needs to have a head sculpted and armatures for arms added…

Also thought I’d show the normal sized guys so far…

    The Daemon General…

And a face close up… it looks horrendous in the pic…

A Serphoul… evil Seraphim (rubbish name I know)… I’m still undecided on whether it should be male or female…

And my Tentacled Horrors… the faces are finished… just need to bulk up the tentacles and add muscle to the bodies…

Aha. Just so you know, I had to think for about three minutes to work out precisely what that meant. if you're gonna make up abbreviations, at least let people be able to read theem.

Hey all... just a quick idea question thingymibob... I'm not that great at sculpting from scratch... so should I use this WoW Troll head on him... I'd lop off the hair and ears and green stuff some other things... I wouldn't do this usually, but he's broken, so he just sits in the corner being lame... He's a bit bigger, but not as broad, so it should hpefully be suitable...

Way to homebrew your own list and models Merc (short for 'Merceus' :P), I like the use of all those nekkid armatures as blank bases. The Tid is an impressive undertaking himself, and I too have dreams of sculpting my own Gigantic Demon at some point ... though for his armature I'll likely go with brass tubing or something a tad more sturdy than plastic sprue and card. Your new armature looks to be working though, hope it holds up.

All the models you showed are WIP, yes? All good starts, but clearly some work to be done yet. Also, I think 'Seraphoul' (pronounced "Sara-foul" as vs "Sara-fim") is a pretty descent name for the killy girls.

I'll be watching, luck with the project.
