Dude, these are great. I need to pick up a Wacom tablet as well, I've been eyeing them for years. Any hints on which type to get and where to get the best deal?

    Cheers Strelok!

I got mine from www.pixmania.com - a helluva lot cheaper than from anywhere else I found.

I just went for the standard Graphire A5 pad - personally I don't think you need to go too big.

I simply don't have the sort of cash to buy one at the moment, but I definitely want to pick one up. Do you know anything about the Graphire 4 or even the Graphire 3 line? And I was interested in the 6x8, as that was the general trend in suggestions that I was seeing.

Mine is the Graphire4 Classic XL A5-sized pad. To be honest I don't know much about the other ones available.

All I can say is my Graphire4 is good enough - it amazes me still how much better it is than a mouse; once you get used to it anyway.

Here's my final pic. To be honest I'm not too chuffed with this pic. There's a lot more I wanted to do to it but time got the better of me!

I take my titles from the Illuminatus sketch group but you're welcome to post some ideas - I'm always in need of inspiration and new concepts!

Plus, and if that's ok with you, I can put the ideas onto the odeas thread of the sketch group - In which case, a few peeps might have a go at it too!

I'm going to keep following this log while I'm separated from my scanner and while I'm waiting to pick up a new copy of Photoshop and one of those pricey wacom tablets.

Some very nice perspective and compositions choices!

I would work on your figure drawing more, though...buy a couple of good anatomy books and consider taking some life drawing classes

The skaven and the warp spider are probably my favorites.

I've done a few years through college doing life drawing but I've not really done it recently from a model - perhaps I should ask my wife for some art sessions!?

    Cheers for the comments!

Here's a Work In Progress of my latest pic: Tank Hunter

I hope I get this pic done soon, I keep getting bogged down in detail! Mind you, the deadline's Wednesday so it's all good so far...

    Thanks Scanno.

I think I'm gonna stick with these tones for the final image, although I might come back to it and colour it up. I know that a few peeps on Anargo Sector Project would like me to have a go!

not bad. one thing that bothers me is that my eye follows from the rhino to that dark blemish in the upper left and then to the titan. what is that dark spot, like a hole in the building? maybe tone down the contrast in that area, and add other smaller holes.

You know what? I was thinking exactly the same thing! I dunno - I wanna put something there because otherwise it's just gonna be flat space. Perhaps you're right - I'll give some smaller holes and cracks a chance!

    Here's my final image.

Although I'm happy with the Rhino, the Titan and general composition I can't help but feel I could have tackled tthe buildings better; made them more 'real'. They just seem too flat to me.

I might just have another go at this pic sometime in the future- sort out the colours and various other issues that are niggling me.

As a marine player I have to scream things questioning how the titan has achieved such a position behind the rhino without popping up on some sort of scanner. However, the work is awesome, I really like the black and white look, great job!

Yeah, a few peeps have mentioned that!

Hows about the scanners don't work too well in the close-urban environment? Plus the Eldar Revenant Titan's got holofield and slides about on jump-jets and anti-grav footsteps?

Cheers for the thumbs up anyway mister!

These are magnificent! I love how the rough sketch-feel of "Street Fighting" accentuates the action. I like the warp spider also. All that is missing is the "BAMPH" sound effect.
