Here's my latest pic.
This was for the title "Savage Regiment" - so rather than chose some feral IG, Kroot or Savage Orks I decided to go down the CSM route.

love the jux-positon (my favourite word A.T.M. )
Haha Juddski, nice choice of word, juxtaposition is a great one. Stugmeister, brilliance yet again. I think I might even use this image as inspiration for a chaos marine I'm working on, I'll make sure to get you a pic if your image is the inspiration!
Just a little heads up - gonna take a little break from the weekly sketch as things are getting very busy my end with house-buying!![]()
Might post the odd pic now and again but to be honest I'm working on a little art project for the time being.

I would have liked to add some steam into the scene but I couldn't quite nail it.

I'm sure it's been asked and answered before, but what program do you use? Great job on the new sketch, though something about the riders erks me...

Well, the halftrack looks great. I'm looking to get a tablet soon. I just picked up CS3 the other day and have been getting reacquainted with adobe on the whole, I forgot how fun it is. Just a question: when using the tablet, does pressure affect the shade of color i.e. pushing harder yield a darker shade? Your color transitions are great, I was just wondering how you developed them.
You can set up brushes to yield a darker shade with pressure, but I've never needed to. Plus, I don't really know how!
What does happen is that when u apply pressure, it fattens the brush. But then again it all depends on how the different brushes are set up.
With the colour transitions it's just a case of using a slightly blurred brush. I paint a rough gradient, then pick the colour between the two colours (where its blurry) and then paint that between them. You then continue that till you're happy with the result. I hope that makes sense?![]()

nice pics, the Steam Regiment is funny![]()
yeah, I know what you're saying, I'll have to try that. I've been doing most of my own colorations and only using gradients for leather and metal for the most part then going back in and touching up those areas. Maybe I'll get some of my work posted in a few days time.
as always, great job stug ,your work always puts a smile on my face,i don't know why/how as you havn't put anything obviously funny in there???.......maybe it's the infantry?![]()
great background and loose style,i also like the mafekin,(nice touch),and the gun ports on the side as well![]()
Here's a WIP of my latest pic.
