Khador Warmachine Log - for the motherlad!

It's time I got off my **** and painted sorted out the models cluttering up my room.

Namely 1,000pts of Khador Warmachine and a Necromunda Delaque gang. Then I'm home free...although some scenery will probably appear too.

This weekend I had a mad gluing and flocking fest, followed by massed sprayage.

    The results:

I intend to glue the shields on after they're painted. Note that the sgt has the standard Man O War legs and arms instead of the LOOK AT MEEEEE!! disco dancing pose he normally comes with. Sheild wall my ****!

I love this model and can't wait to see him painted. So I'll save him til last to inspire me to work harder.

I had to glue his halberd to his foot for extra strength. The Privateer Press model has it held out to the side in a line, only attached by a skinny wrist. It was blantantly going to break.

Vlad and chums before flock n spray. Note the 2 sword conversion!
    Now he looks really awesome.

The Behemoth was an absolute nightmare of non stop filing before taking a whole week to assemble. Each component needs to carefully dry. I also converted his right leg to stand on the base. Normally he's up on one leg. I'm sorry Privateer Press, but that is gonna break!

Post spray n such. Halfords black spray flaked off one of them. Bit concerning.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Motherland made proud. Will you be going red with them? Another endorsement for the P3s, I can't wait for my set to come in.

I've just slapped the first coat of red on the Butcher and his buddies. But I'll show all the stages when they're done. Suffice to say, I'm not using the P3 red as my basecoat. More coming soon!

I'll be slapping on the basic main colours during the week, then painting properly at the weekends. BY the time I get home from work the light is pretty poor. I need to get one of those daylight bulbs..

My camera is being a bit of an **** right now, but I did get this shot of my Delaque leader. Shame a bit of flesh wash on a lower layer caught the light

I used some of the P3 paints. Thornwood Green on the weapons and Greatcoat Grey for the trousers. Very impressed how the go on so smoothly.

Like your Delaque! How about a tattoo on his head? Make him look even harder!

Lovely gang leader; smoothly painted and just generally good

I'm also interested to see this Warmachine as well. i don;t like their style from what I;ve seen; maybe seeing them with different painting wil change my mind?

My chaos cult needed a leader

Someome recommended the Mordheim Necromancer and I've got to say, he's an awesome model. Too bad his sword arm normally gets in the way of his face. I'll give him a bolter or pistol when I scav one.

    cult leader

I slapped Bestial Brown on my delaques last night.

    Urg!
Was out with work eating twice my own bodyweight in Chinese scoff yesterday and tonight I'm shattered after work.

I'll paint more stuff tomorrow. Probably more Necromunda and the next coat of red on a warjack.

Re: Khador Warmachine Log - for the motherlad!

Because it's dreary outside the light in my room is dreadful. I was only able to get a single coat of khardic flesh on my heavy and some flesh wash before it became too dark to paint.

I got myself a Daylight Bulb in the post, but it's a bayonette, not a screw in, so I'm a bit stumped. I'll buy a tall lamp or something at the weekend.

On the bright side, look at the blasphemous book I got in the post!

As you may have guessed, I'm a very happy bunny

Just realised it's a bank holiday weekend this week. Whoo hoo! 3 days of painting!

    Expect some awesome results.

    Until soon...

A very happy and slightly twisted looking bunny who has obviously been mutated much in the service of one god or other; I mean look how hideous he's been made! That can;t be natural!
    What? It is!

    Oooops....

    Three Day Painting Weekend!

First off, my 12 cities of death barricades came in the post, which will be added to the growing scenery collection as demonstrated here by my Delque leader Slappy McSlaphead

Re: Khador Warmachine Log - for the motherlad!

I need to at the very least finish the Delaque gang this weekend. I've made a start on Roaring Reg the heavy with a Khardic Flesh basecoat (P3), followed by a Flesh Wash (GW). Next I paint on some Dwarf Flesh, then highlight with a little watered down Bleached Bone. I find that Elf Flesh is far too vibrant for skin....unless you're going for that 'slapped ****' look.

Here's some stages. Keep it simple and it looks fine. It's also best to hight where you see the light fall. This stops you from highlighting too much and keeps things quick.

Yes, yes, his goggles are blobbed! I'll tidy them up later.

    Nice work.

The cultists, are they high elf archer legs, cadian torsos and arms, and wood elf heads?

    Cheers.

Looking forward to seeing the Khador scheme. I stole my MOW Leader's legs for a Kovnik conversion and hadn't considered that shield wall will work better.
