    Re: HiveFleet Gorgon

that's quite an impressive game you participated in (In Light of the Emperor's game room if i'm not mistaken) As much as I like warhammer, i couldn't imagine playing a 7 hour game. I'm a fan of combat patrols myself lol
That wasn't even everything we played with.

Some of my stuff was in Reserve due to me bidding a small amount of time to deploy, and I had squad is Raiders.

My brother had some greayknights and a thunderhawk in reserve too.

Vortex Gernades are AWESOME! Next game we agreed to have 10 in different locations of our choosing. That should also speed up the game a bit/as it's wiping everything out.

Nice work on the tyrant....do the wings really need more work? they seem fine as they are
Thanks, the wings have to many streaks and arn't my best work. I also mixed the paint and added a bit to much once some had already dryed so it looks uneven.

    1 more thing
I just recieved my battleforce from ebay. I'll start building this afternoon. Or tommarow when I have time.

    Thanks,

Vortex gernade, is a gernade (Obviously) that a independant character has. He can throw it and it moves randomly every turn. When it touches a model that model dies no saves allowed.

Yes, it's one of the strategic Assets you can chose from.

I have also worked on the carni from the battleforce. I turned him into a scream killer with scything talons, crushing claws, and all the other combat extras.Should be good in games of apocalypse, and if everyone in normal games don't shoot at him because they think he won't get in combat he will do a lot of damage.

    I'll get pics tommarow afternoon.

Screamer Killers are a good choice in my opinion. I use one in my nid armies, and its either ignored completely due to its pooey speed or soaks up fire like a sponge.

Yes, the Vortex grenade is quite an interesting weapon

Screamer Killers are the only melee fexes worth taking. Go for a few of those.

    Re: HiveFleet Gorgon

    Thanks for the comments everyone!

Here are some pics of the scream killer...

I'm looking forward to painting him.

Here is what I gave him,

    Both Adrenal Glands
    Bonded Exoskeleton
    Extended Carapace
    Reinforced Chitin
    Toxin Sacs
    Tusked
    Tail Mace
    Crushing Claws
    Scything Talons

Which brings him up to 209pts

I hope he makes those points up when killing everything.

    Thanks,

    Re: HiveFleet Gorgon

A 'Screamer Killer' is generally a minimal close-combat Carnifex with just two sets of Scything Talons, Bio-Plasma, and perhaps an Adrenal Gland. This guy could stomp a Screamer-Killer's face in! He's more like a Howler-Crusher or something.

Always love seeing Crushing Claws in use. I really should paint up my magnetic ones so I can use a Crusher in Apocalypse...

TLG, the sad truth is that melee fexes aren't very good. The only really worthwile choice is the Screamer-Killer, which is two sets of Scything Talons, Bio-Plasma, and Adrenal Glands if you want it. The name comes from the screaming sound produced when they charge bio-plasma or something.

Thanks guys, I guess he's a Howler Crusher

I thought he would be a fire magnet, either that or not get shot at. I can always say that he's a scream Killer and the tusk's represent the other pair I guess.

Here are also some pics on how the spineguants are turning out. I just picked a random 3. Still need touch ups

Yeah, I meant scything tail or whatever it's called.
Should have some updates tommarow. Once I have time to start building the rest of my battleforce.

Any ideas on what I should give my warriors? I was thinking another leaping rending/scything talon squad. In the games I have played they have done a lot of damage.

Thanks, I look forward to posting some updates.

You have the leveithan scheme right?

You could try dipping. You don't have to paint the models as detailed which saves some time and comes out nice.

I actually found some pink dip, actually there are a lot of colors you can choose from. I think the pinks all look good.

Also do you paint assembly line style? That makes things go faster.

Also when your sick of guants. What I do is paint other models from different armies. I had a bunch of marines, but never wanted to do a marine army, so when I'm sick of painting nids I just paint a space marines hwoever I want.

    Hope that helps!

What configurations have you got already?

Personnally im going for two units of 6 leaper-render-scythers and one unit of 9 deathspitter-scythers

Depends on your battle plan really but remember to put a cheap squad of gaunts or two in front of em
