    Killshot Production log

I do mainly commissions these days and I thought I would keep a running log of what I have been doing. These will be mostly historical miniatures with the occassional fantasy figure thrown in that I like to paint. To start here are some Huns and Saxons.

Thanks! I don't charge much because I love to paint and it is more a labor of love than anything else.

Oh yeah, I won't complain about getting money!

The Huns and most of the Saxons are by Wargames Foundry. There are four Saxons from West Wind productions new Age of Arthur range, and then two of them I have no idea.

    WoooW Killshot!

I'm very jealous! Your miniatures have such vitality!

They seem to 'come to life' as miniatures.

I wish I can paint my ECW miniatures like that... (I haven't started on them but they are 28mm historical miniatures like these)

    Great stuff

Here are some more Saxons that I have painted, they are all from Wargames Foundry:

And this is for me, an, as of yet named, Hero of Dol Amroth:

Those look good, you have a very naturalistic style of painting - kinda reminds of Steve Dean's work actually. Look forward to seeing some more!

I've seen the Foundry stuff unpainted and was never impressed with them. But, now that I see what they could look like when a skilled brush touches them....I'm impressed.

What's next on the painting station? Also, what brand of paints do you use?

Thanks! Up next is the last batch of Saxons I have to finish and some more Dol Amroth stuff. I mainly use vallejo paints (their Game Color and Model Color) and I have some GW paints that I am using up before switching to vallejo.

I've been working some LotR figures lately, here are some Knights of Dol Amroth on foot:

    The Knights and their Captain:

and one of Haldir's elves from Helms Deep. I don't know where the model came from since it is the only elf I have.

heh heh, yeah, most LotR fans said the same when they turned up
perhaps a thin wash of scorched brown would look good, it looks nice now of course, but some of the armour plates are runnning into one another...

EDIT - might you have gotten it from the BGoME magazine?

I agree, the armor needs something else. I will try out the scorched brown.

I never subscribed to BGoME! I think I aquired it in some trade and just forgot about the model.

Great work so far Killshot. Those Saxons are looking very nice. I like those knights of Dol Amroth too.
