    Warhammer Fantasy RTS

On there GW U.S site there is a link talking about Namco making a WFB RTS, it is supposed to come out in 06, there wasnt much about it. But, I'm still pretty hyped.

I'm sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but, I looked around and was not able to find anything.

    Re: Warhammer Fantasy RTS

a dude from my local store had some gamers magazine, and he was saying about this.

the main races are supposed to be orcs&gobbos, empire, skaven (i think) elves (i think) and some others i cant remember.

also he said that you can change units weapons, command, and the like. and they will be translating the magic items as exactly as you can for a real time game.

all i know is im completely hyped!

looking in my uk edition of pc gamer, the races so far are (looking at the pictures): empire, skaven, high elves, goblins, chaos (chaos is mentioned in the preview), and the main focus is between empire and chaos- so im not sure about how other races i metioned will be involved in the storyline. There is nothing metioned of other races, but i presume they will be included in the game.

It might work a bit like warcraft 3, you get to play all the races, and they all have something to do with the main storyline.

First of all there is a thread about this (in the games forum):

    http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7958
and second of all it is not like Warcraft where you build stuff and units as fast as you can.

and if you want the article the 9th post has the links:

    http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakka/Defa...g=posts&t=9072

the main races are supposed to be orcs&gobbos, empire, skaven (i think) elves (i think) and some others i cant remember.
if you read the article it says that chaos and empire will be the only playable races in single play (with skaven and high elves as their allies in some parts) and then skaven and HE are also playable in multiplayer. O&G only have a cameo appearance (probably as the enemy)

    - Sorry

If it as well done as WC III then it could be sweet, but I have played the other games made by Games Workshop and I have my doubts...

Am I the only person who thinks of the Storm of Chaos the second they read the list of races?

That sounds very promising. Funny thing that Dawn of War is typically focussed on giving the broadest possible clientel what they want, just like 40k (I'm a 40k player myself but heretic from time to time). This game seems to be an actual strategic game without all this whacky base-building. (if I got the information right).

    Nice.

Bingo, we have a winner. Now you know what the single-player campaign is about. For Empire side:A young Imperial noble seeks to prove himself against the vast hordes of Chaos. Dwarfs and High Elves help him in random ways. For Chaos side:Same as above. Replace Imperial with Chaos and vice verse. Replace Dwarf with Skaven and Elf with orc. And thats the plot.

Most of them are mediocre to quite good for their respective time periods and i had much fun playing the various games.. especially Dawn of War is excellent and fast but i stopped playing a long while ago so i can't comment if they fixed the most horrible balancing issues.

If the WH RTS comes near in quality to Dawn of War i will be one happy gamer.. im curious how they will implement regimental warfare and the insane amount of magical items, spells and unit types. We'll see.. Dawn of War set the bar.

Ahhh - why not? Everyone else is copying them - Imperial Glory for instance. In the PC Gamer where the Warhammer article appeared there was a preview of another game involving mass combat in a total war stylee - I even thought they were talking about a total war mod at first!

I hope namco get it right, but I can't help thinking Creative would have nailed this sucker ...
Some people just want their cake and eat it too ... and then get their grubby mitts on everyone else's cake before enslaving all patisserie chefs in the world and forcing them to become their bake-slaves for all eternity thus creating a society of those who eat cake and those who go without.

I'm total ass if someone uses an overpowered, unfluffy and unbalanced rooster
