Speed painted tomb kings.
Speed painting Night goblins against the GIANT clock.
That was a blast ... I should do that again.

Then I started this nonsence callled "The tale of painters"
and tried to paint 5 armies similtaneously. (1000 points a month). BONKERS!!!
My first ever 'completed' unit. (Stiill need shields.)
Complete contrast to the messy skellies. Love this unit. One of my favorite things I have painted.
(First fully completed unit ... they didn't need shields)

My first experiment with greenstuff. Not used it for anything much beyond filling before this.
My first 40K unit. The Dessert Lions.
First unit fillers. I started paying attention to detail on bases from this point.
Got a soft spot for these as I later got a little golden demon badge for making the cut with these.

Really enjoyed painting up these old marauder classics. Even tough I never really settled on a scheme and none of them are finished.
And these lovely old Dwarves.
Especially this fellow. Yo Ho Ho.
This is probably my best painting under the very kind guidance of Georg. (For which I will always be grateful).

There has been the odd break from painting miniatures.

Ah yes, I remember seeing that elven tower before. Truly magnificent.
How much points of models do you got painted (more or less)?
And how much still to go?
---EDIT---
Oops. I just noticed your "please don't post for a bit" message... I hope I didn't interrupt anything?

AND FINALLY
My love of doing terrain stood me in good stead for doing the base on this. This has to be my favorite model from the plog. The best idea, combo of old metal, plastic, old and new models, bit of conversion, nice base and most importantly really quick and easy paint job!
... and it is the centerpiece of what has to be my favorite army so far. Look forward to getting back to these guys in 8th edition.
Please forgive my little stroll down memory lane. Hope you liked my 'best bits'.
All the best
Harry

Very nice Harry,
It's great to look back on a log and see all the progress you have made, sometimes you forget just how many models it has helped you paint. Although in your case I guess it has helped you paint more models than most people!
I agree that your undead army is very impressive and probably my favourite of all the armies you have done so far as well.
The terrain you have done has been great too and really helps break up the piles of models I find, I don't remember seeing the Elven castle before though? It is very impressive, I would love to see you finish that bad boy.
Still congrats on 100 pages and congrats on so many excellent models completed!

Thank you very much indeed.
It is odd (spooky odd) that you should be first to post.
Your wonderful 'wonder log' was one of THE ones that inspired me the MOST to start my own and the place that the whole 'Tale of tainters' idea first got off the ground. I am sure you never imagined when you asked the question 'what do you guys do when you get stuck for motivation' and I said 'I come and look at you log' and McMullet said 'Me and my mates used to try and paint up 200 points for the next time we got together to help us get stuff painted' it would become the beast it has.

That elven Castle is still my favourite Harry, and funny that Spike was one of the one's that inspired you too, I think he's inspired a few of usI bet you feel proud looking back at what you've accomplished ^_^
Amazing.
I love the classic models and im very fond of the VC army.
I'm currently working on a VC army myself which includes lots of models from Reaper.
Maybe i'll start posting some pics soon.
Also a very cool classic Dark Elf Army you got there. Its very inspiring. Thx
Thanks.
Painted about 15,000 I guess. many more thousands than that. some of my individual armies are that big.
Errm not as such. I am great at starting projects though.
I really do. I just went back and looked at spikes log all over again. so much variety of stuff. Such good painting. So many neat ideas. It was and is a great log and a huge inspiration. I have tried to do a similar variety of stuff on here. I got a bit caught up in painting armies for TOP though for this log to be everything I imagined it would be. But it is what it is and I am chuffed to bits with everything I have got painted.
Thanks very much. Do start a log. I love some of the Reaper undead minis. I look forward to seeing some pics

Great stuff Harry- congrats on 100 pages! Lovely to see all those goblins mounted up and of course the VC army. Looking at all that terrain and all your armies- thats potentially alot of gaming! I have visions of a besieged elven castle..
As with many this log along with Spikey's and few others have beena great inspiration to myself- one of the reasons I started a plog myself. Well done mate- keep it up.
My random painting log- 3/3/2013 now painting winter VC- black knights.

Seems like my favourite word when being near Harry is getting "awesome". Man, that stuff is just awesome!
I think I should add a "thank you" too, as the inspiration provided by you made me work on my own stuff again. And even in a serious way. Dude, I got models painted! So keep the work going, let us participate in it, and inspire others. Good health and everything.![]()
Congrats sir on your 100th Bday!...Great to see your work in a memory lane format. it has been an inspiration to me and got me to finish my first army (VC) in 20 lazy years...
Now on to the 2nd, Steg heaven....
Look forward to your furture work fella....
