Damn Harry you are a hobby machine!!! Your work rate never fails to impress me. Loving the old west buildings too. Can't wait to see what you post next.

One place worth looking for Coat D'Arms paints is www.terrainwarehouse.co.uk. They have the entire C/A range on their site at £1.50 a pot (and they may be willing to negotiate a discount for large orders, if you're very lucky!).
Unless I'm being dumb, there also seems to be a number of C/A paints that aren't on the conversion chart a few posts up (there are around 100 colours available). Luckily enough many of the colours are named with an obvious nod to their previous names (Lupin Grey, anyone?). Took me ages to find the equivilant to the Leprous Brown I need though...![]()

Wow Harry those buildings are grand!
HN
Dark elves - looking good
Undead - looking good again sir
Wild west chappies - looking mighty fine, yes siree!
And loving those buildings as well Harry - what inspired the wild west theme then?
The buildings are great, how long did they take you? My thoughts are drawn 40k-wards; I imagine Space Marines peering through the windows of that saloon
Are the old west figures new purchases, or more stuff from your archives?
1. Harry, n., A name often referring to the painting genius of WarSeer, once known for his rumours and still viciously attacked for leaving part of a great base unpainted. It is said that GW finds the only way to quench his thirst for enough models to paint is to feed him rumours, though in the dark places of the world it is rumoured he will eventually run out, and GW will at first earn money then go bankrupt after failing to supply him with the models required to uphold his painting genius. His scenery in internationally renowned.
2. Harry the Hammer,n ., a model produced by the miniatures producer GW. Not of particular interest apart from the date it marks.
Awesome stuff. Fantastic scenery, and the base is simply superb. But paint that shield ...
MM
That saloon is! Spectacular!
The flaem cannon is looking really cool with its base... now all you have to do is highlight a bit more the brown barrel of the cannon(compared to the rest of the base it doesn't stand out IMHO)
The cold one knights are wonderful: great paintjob on great stylish minis. Substitute "cold one" with "black" and you'll have my thought on your undeads
I also like the old mustachioed west stuff, but the guy with the pistol (post 1314) is showing what it seems a mould line under his chin.

Just had to mention that when I checked this page the google ad showing was the (in somewhat bad taste): NEW GAME FOR YOUR MOBILE, "Help Harry in Afghanistan".

Your saloon looks awesome!
Don't forget the big mirror behind the bar. It's a must in every western saloon.
Woah i have looked the the first 40 pages on dialup :P
But your painting machine is wicked :P Where do i find one???
Oh wait it is you? How much an hour?? (no don't think dirty thoughts)
I really like the buildings
Catchya!
watch the progress of 'to40kp' space marine log!
Awesome painting log
Hello Harry.
Well i'm pretty amazed by your speed ! I try to paint everyday, but i paint in a month the things you paint in a week.
The daemons are great, chaos warriors too, and the wolves are my fav, first time i've see so much wolves !
My lordy lord,
wow harry, you are one dedicated dude. How do you find the time between working and other commitments to paint all these units? i struggle to paint maybe 10figs a month between working and family commitments...
I've just spent one and a half hour browsing through all the pages of this thread and I must say that you have done an excellent job with each of your armies.
I like the old harpies, I find them better sculpted than the new ones. And your paint job on them is really awesome. Although your DE minis are all vintages, you have managed to give them a perfect look and your army is now more characterful and distinct than any recent DE army.
Same comments on the daemons. Old minis + fantastic paintjob = awesome army. Though I prefer the new bloodletters that will be released this year.
The VC army is really going great. Your work on the bases is wonderful. If I have one objection though : be careful not to generalize the use of scenery for the bases of your units since at the end none of them will stand out of the lot. I think you have come to a good compromise now by working on bigger unit like the knights with normal bases (btw congrats for the skellies unit, it is great and full of...life !!).
The dwarves look cool. I'm not too keen on dwarves, but yours I must say are excellent. What's good is the consistency you put in your different armies, either with scenery (like for the VC) or with the bases (for the daemons).
Your high elves are neat and near to perfect. Your idea for the bases is very good and it reinforces the high elves theme.
I've got one criticism : where are the goblins ? (wolf riders and night gobbos). It seems like you have forgotten them. I hope they will reappear someday :-)
Pheww, that was a lot to say, but after having read 67 pages, I had to add my 2 cents.
Thanks and keep up the good work.
Visit and rate my fantasy log : A lot of green against a feeble mind
Models painted 2011= 45 / 2012 = 62 / 2013 = 32

The prurple and red are really not working out for me either. At least one has got to go!
Red on skellies is not finished. thats only the first colour. I think I way stop putting up WIP shots and just put stuff up when its is done.
Thanks.
We can chat about the meet up on the fantasy thread as they have on the 40K thread.
I love scenery and cool looking games tables in general. The visual treat of a great looking table and armies is what I enjoy most about the hobby. (more than actually playing a game!) I also love making models. This stuff comes a lot easier than painting mini's.
Thanks for that.
Yes. IT IS WIP
More of the same sh1te.
Thanks for that.
Cheers.
Someone else started a thread to paint up a posse and it got me all excited about getting my Old West stuff painted ... before I knew it I had started a new thread.
First one took me about an hour as I was working stuff out. But it is not finished. I have made a similar one since in about 45 mins with much more detail. The saloon is about one and a half hours so far with a long way to go.
More stuff from the archives.
When I first found foundry I immediately fell in love with there Old west stuff (and a number of other ranges) But I was a big fan of Copplestone and the Perry's already. So I bought lots of stuff before they became more widely known. Then when they first moved to Nottingham they had a sale to shift some stuff and I bought a fair bit then as well.
Thanks for that... I think?
WIP
Worry not. The doors remain wide enough. I know where my painting falls in the big scheme of things. There are many better painters than me on this forum alone. The entry I took to GD last year did not even make the cut. The same is true of my scenery. I am no Dave Andrews. His stuff makes mine look like the first fumbelling attempts of Blue Peter presenter working with a cerial box and sticky tape.
But I am very glad of all encouragement and support.
Thanks
Yes there are still several stages to be done to the cannon.
Thanks
i will check out the mould line before I continue.
Different Harry.
It is done at word level ... hence the sometimes tenuous links.
Thanks. I will make a long mirror.
On Dial up! I tried looking back though it the other day with broardband and lost the will to live by page 40!
Thanks for sticking with it.
I am not taking commissions. Not enough confidence in my own ability to take someone elses money and too much of my own stuff to paint.
I imagine you paint to a better standard.
If you paint everyday you must get a fair bit painted. I have recently been unable to find the time to paint every day and go though patches of painting nothing for a week then using every bit of spare time I can in thenext week. it is much better to do a little and often and amazing how much stuff you can get painted when you do.
I just keep plodding on. I paint mostly when my children go to bed. 7.00 onwards and sometimes I get to paint at a weekend if my wife takes the chil's to a party or something ... I get time off for good behaviour.
Wow. Thanks for taking the time to read through the thread and give so much feedback. Thanks for all the positve comments.
I think the thing I have learned the most from all this painting is the importance of the bases for both impact and a tight theme.
I think your right about the bases. I am in danger of overdoing it. Sometimes it is hard to see the army as a whole when you are working on a unit at a time. But I will keep this in mind now you point it out.
Yes the Goblins. I realy want to get back to them. I just keep getting side tracked by the next project.
Once this years Tale of Fantasy painters is over I will do less armies for next years and give myself more time to do other stuff ... lioke finishing up some of the things I have started.

Wow...use quotes much? You're welcome though
(Now get back to painting...)
Harry since you are sick enough to buy that number of minis you should hire someone to paint part of them!
Id love to see that cave of vice where you hide at.
Harry, you're mad. Madder than me.
I love 'em, especially the flying ethereal Black Coach - tho' there never were photos of the finished roadwarden...![]()
