    Redemptionist army. Redeem yourselves!

    Update tracker
Most recent update; 20th october 2009 (post #140)
    Army status; 90+ %
Left to do; Highlighting, patching up, bases. No more models, hurray!
    Latest army overview;

As my photobucket got reorganised, a lot of links are broken. You can go to my photobucket found in my signature for these older pictures.

    Below is the original first post;

    Ever read the Redeemer comic?
A lot of people probably didn't, so here's the front page of the comic book and a sample of some juicy action. Get it if you can find it! [/COLOR]

If this is in any way illegal, please let me know.

That guy needs an army. And slowly but surely, I'll be building it. It'll be a IG army, with an inquisitor lord (the redeemer) leading them. New flaggelants for conscripts, heavily converted necromunda guys making up the grunts and a weird construction here and there as vehicles.

yeah as soon as saw the new flaggelant models i thought to myself "guard conversions" i was originally thinking chaos cultists, but i would love to see an army of redeemers as they have some of the coolest imagery in the necromunda world

    Re: Redemptionist army. Redeem yourselves!

No flaggelants yet. I did get pretty far with my leading man, the Redeemer himself.
    This is the original model.

As you can see, a weird stance that doesn't really portray the comic character very well. On the other hand, the details are sculpted perfectly. It just needed a more active stance, while still looking like a leader and not a raving *****.
He still needs some work on the chain, some details on his robe (a book, a gun, etc) and a fuel pipe, but other then that he's pretty much done.

I think this fits my purposes perfectly. It still looks like a leader, but one with a very hands on aproach.

I also started on some basic grunts, and here's one for show. They'll have all sorts of heads with odd masks, all ripped from Necromunda models.

    hope you like them.

    Re: Redemptionist army. Redeem yourselves!

    Thanks for the comments!

I'm affraid most heads don't come seperate. However, the new redemptionist box (where the priest is from) does have some sprues of heads. But these parts weren't available seperately until a week after I placed my massive order, so I've got dozens of full miniatures to cut the heads off
I'll order some more from these seperate ones though

Nice! This'll be an excellent army when you've got it finished.
Are you going to use the Flagellent models at all?

O irony. When you were typing that, I was replacing it, after realising the same

I'll use the flaggelants for sure. They're perfect to represent a mob that tags along with the more permanent faithful. Cannon fodder fits this theme perfectly, so they're in!

Nice models there mate I love the sculpted robes, keep up the good work.

    cheers, the spam man
Between the time when the oceans drank Atlantis, and the rise of the sons of Aryas, there was an age undreamed of. And unto this, Conan, destined to wear the jeweled crown of Aquilonia upon a troubled brow. It is I, his chronicler, who alone can tell thee of his saga. Let me tell you of the days of high adventure!

On the other hand, you have different fingers.

This has had potential for so long, I am glad some one is grabbing the bull by the horns!

    nice one mate!

Yeah, we flew our space church across 500 light years to get to this planet taken over by the orks. Now we're going to drop from orbit in buckets and run out and shoot pistols and hit people in the head with chainsaws. Ultramarines!

Outstanding! Anyone who doesn't love the Redeemer should be taken outside and purged.

    Re: Redemptionist army. Redeem yourselves!

I have the comic in black and white (ahhh...the old Warhammer Monthly...) but well, my answer is yes.

I don´t know if is to late, but i would give to the Redeemer the chain sword that win in the "Chain Battle" with the mutant gang leader, instead of the eviscerator

I will watch this thread very closely
