Try model Expo. You can get 1500 nails for $20 US.
They carry a lot of ship parts as well, just be sure of the scale.

    Ahoy!

I suspected that there is an easier way to get suitable nails... Thanks for the links, for the big ship I will definetly buy the nails. That 1500 sounds good, but it would be even better if I could find something similar in Europe. Shipping from the US may cost as much as the nails. Ofcourse the best would be finding a shop in my country

    Ahoy!

Sorry for the silence, but there will be no updates till dec. 7. I'm in a painting mood and there will be a painting competition that day, so I want to finish some of my modells.

But fear not, the ship will be finished (sooner or later )

McMordain, I was curious are you basing your ship on a xebec style ship or is it your own design?

Re: Ahoy! Pirates on the horizon!

    Ahoy!

Tommygun: Well not exactly. The ship is based on the Corsairs of Umbar ships from the Lotr films. But I suspect that those ships were based on the xebec style.
The name was not familiar so I googled up some pics and I realy wounder how could you pinpoint it. Frankly I dont think its resemble anything like the xebec style I call her the "Ugly Duck" by the way

Everyone thanks for the encouragements and praises. Keep them comming because I cant work with a hungry ego

    Ahoy!

N810: That is a beautiful ship, did you built it? And thx for the pic, it is realy useful.

Warlord Ghazak Gazhkull: Well if he builds one, post pictures about it.

Well I was working on the ship, so here is some early christmas present:

I finished the planking of the port side:

I also redesigned the stern of the ship:

I'm currently working on the planking of the stern. After that I will make the structure for the cabin on the stern. Then comes the planking above the rubbing-strake on both side, and ofcourse the cabin. And the main decks floor. And many more things.... I wont finish it till new year, but I plan to do as much as I can.

Naa I didn't build it (I wish I had) It looks like it might be a museum piece.
Any how it looks like you are making some real progress.
