Thanks! I suppose it would be possible by just adding another layer along the sides. I'll have to experiment a bit, still, I m not sure if it would actully show on the finished model. Worth a try though!

I prefer the darker base you used for the warp spider exarch. It's good to see you back in action again.

Tester for my new colour scheme:

A bit grainy pics, and I'm not too sure on the basing. Let me know what you think!

Interesting conversion and very clear and smooth painting. Just the base looks a bit like painted plastic rubble :/
It's not the first "Wraitlord-looking-like-Revenant"-conversion I've seen, but your weapons are much closer to a Revenant.

VERY nice wraithlord, what made you choose hooves; and where'd the smaller fins on either side of the white main fin come from?

It looks to me like those come from the jetbike kit (the fins off the engines) but I'm sure he'll confirm. Oddly enough I had used a pair of those on the face of a Wraithlord conversion to be horns.

Love the return of some 3rd edition boxed set rubble.

Thanks man! I agree that the rubble looks bad, not to convinced on the basing at all. I might change it from a brownish grey to overall dark brown instead.

Sure: black basecoat, then a mix of black and turquoise, turuqoise, light turquoise, then light turquoise and white, and finally pure white. I used Vallejo model colour.

The hoves were chosen to more closely resemble the feet on the forge world revenant titan. The fins are from a jetbike.

It is indeed the jetbike fins. I'm not particularly fond of the jetbike kit (has mostly to do with the riders), and figured I could put them to better use!

The arms: the upper part is the original WL arm cut off at the elbow. It s then slightly greenstuffed to form a socket into which an eye loob from the spawn kit is inserted to form a ball joint at the elbow. This is then attached to a bright lance, which (upside-down) forms the forearm/gun part. The flamers from the WL kit are attached to the underside (on the titan which this build mimics it is actually two lenses/scopes, but exchanging them for flamers looks pretty cool and also makes the WL WYSIWYG!). The muzzle of the bright lances need to be cut off and turned around 180 degrees, since the BLs are attached upside-down. To the back end of the BLs I attached square ammo boxes that come with the Wave serpent Heavy Weapon frame.

Sure! Fins from a jetbike are inserted in the slots intended for the original back fins and greenstuffed around the joint for a smoothless transition. The big back fin is one of the original ones, but placed in the centre, where the big rune is located. The rune is filed flat, and the fin is mounted on an assembly consisting of the hoof from a warwalker (with the ball joint and heel cut away) and the power cell from a bright lance.

    Re: Winter themed eldar

Small update: Now that the Fang competition is over (spent most of the past two months preparing for that - won 4 out of 5 classes in which I participated with an entry), I'll try to get the eldar procject a new go. For real!
Over the past six months or so I have been cleaning mould lines, assembled and in some cases even primed quite a substantial amount of eldar troops and vehicles. Soon I will start painting! So what's on the table? Well, first of all there is THIS beauty (which will actually not be seeing any paint in the near future):

Since she arrived only a couple of weeks ago there's still a lot of prep work to do. It is a real joy to work with this kit, so many possible poses. Unfortunately the casting was pretty bad over all, lots of air bubles, some horrendous mould lines (some 2 milimeters on one of the legs!!!), places where the resin is *very* thin has suffered from severe misscasting and needs to be resculpted etc. I'm fairly convinced that I can handle all of this though. But take a look at the pulsars below, for example, they both sported a huge amount of tiny cracks. I put on a fair amount of liquid greenstuff (I really love this stuff, very easy to work with for gap filling and correcting small miscasts) and then sand papered it smooth.

Still waiting for a base to arrive, then I will start building it, which I pressume will include a lot of pinning and use of magnets!

So what will I paint? Well, there is this:

Hard to see, but it is two warwalkers, two heavy weapons platforms, two support platforms and a squad of Dire avengers. Then there is this lot of 24 guardians:

    and this:

2 fire prisms, 2 wave serpents, 1 falcon and a squad of 14 storm guardians. All the vehicles use FW upgrades (Mark II) and are magnetised so that I can swap weapons, add spirit stones etc. as I like. I have chosen to not add the vectored engines, instead making use of the parts that came with the (expensive) FW kit. I may have to come up with a way of representing the vectored engines in the future though. I have never used star engines, but might still decide to arrange with magnets for future use.

All in all, a lot of heavy support and troop choises! Should probably keep me occupied until the new codex comes out sometime next year (?), and if I run out of things to paint I have both dark reapers, fire ragons and 15 wraithguards that I can get cracking on. And shouldn't there be an eldar flyer in the pipe line? Oh, and revenatn titans usually are fielded in pairs, right? Let the painting comence!

I still think you should do your Avatar pretty soon - I'm dying to see it.

Also regarding the Phantom, wouldn't it have been easier to send any miscast parts back to FW or did you get it cheap off ebay or something? FW's prices are quite high so for that price you should get top, top quality casts.

Oh, the avatar, had completely forgotten about that one :-)
I thought I would file a complaint with FW about the miscasts on the revenant titan, but I was too eager to get cracking I find that working with the parts also gives you a good idea of how the kit works, options for poses and the like. But yeah, if I get anoher one, I'll certainly make sure I get a good cast.
