Possessed Warband

Hey guys... I kinda promised myself I wouldn't do this as I wanted to concentrate on my chaos army but here we go...

these guys are essentially a distraction from my Chaos Army, to be worked on slowly when I can't face painting metal and leather any more...

So begins the saga of the Hobb Street Face Eaters

First up WIP Magistar



very WIP at the moment. The right hand is (as is the plan so far unless something else takes my fancy) gonna be holding the book from the wizard sprue (painted suitably chaosy) .. i've left it off for the moment to make the guy easier to paint. He still needs some green-stuffing. The horn needs to be blended in with the head and i want some more wax dribbling down the candle but aside from that I think i'm gonna let my painting 'chaosify him' rather then rely on conversion (i'm not great with GS). I'm not sure i like the flowing robe thingies flapping about.. i was thinking they might look good with some appropriate chaos symbols running down them but I may have to wait for some other bit of inspiration.

I'm not 100% certain what I want to do with this guy, I'm thinking of sculpting a hood for him and maybe adding some mutant spines on his left arm (relatively subtly) but as always ideas welcome.


These guys are very very WIP and I'm thinking of them as more of a painting exercise than a playable warband.. but I've got some ideas that should be fun to play around with... enjoy

I really like the Magister. Nice usage of the new Empire wizards(love them). Hell it could make a nice chaos sorcerer if you wanted it to be.

Haha that brethren is a converted flagellant? The new flagellants are too muscular. I knew they were beefy enough to be chaos boys ;P

Yeah they're some of my favourite models... this is actually the third posessed warband I've made.. and I still love my old magister:



quick update, sculpted the hood on the brethren and moulded the horn into the Maigister's head

if it is still possible, i think that the magister's horn would look better with a slight curve, just at 1st glance it looks as if he has been stabbed ! might be solved be painting though

They both look great. I agree with Be Afraid, that horn needs a curve in it, unless of course your magister's name is Massive head wound Harry.

quick update.. began work on the Magister, head's pretty much finished, his eyes are painted in (just white no pupils) but hasn't really come out in the photo. I think scheme-wise he's gonna have quite light and plush looking inner robes underneath a dirty and muddied cloak... kinda like he keeps himself hidden till the big fight...

It's from the Empire Flagallents Sprue... the horn is added with green stuff

Rad cool. The great thing about mordheim is the attention to detail that can be given to each mini without it taking many years to get something completed. If your chaos project log is anything to go by, we should be expecting more than a couple of masterpieces in this one!
