Wow great looking magister you have there! Looking forward to more updates!
very cool magister, dont suppose you could explain how you got that skin tone..
this looks like its going to be a very nice warband!
I really love that model and the brethren! You just gave me an amazing idea for a chaos sorcerer!
Thanks matey.. and thanks to everyone else.
The skin tone is slightly different from my usual recipe;
I started with a basecoat of 1:1 dark flesh/scorched brown mix, re-based with terracotta (avoiding the recesses), then highlighted 1:1 terracotta dwarf flesh, then dwarf flesh, then 1:1 dwarf flesh elf flesh (all highlights slightly watered down)... I then applied a very thin glaze of flesh wash before touching up with the dwarf flesh/elf flesh mix, then highlighting extreme areas (cheeks, nose and forhead creases with elf flesh, then a final highlight of 1:1 elf flesh/skull white on the nose and eyebrows. the areas under the eyes and the cheeks were then given a very thin red ink wash to add some life... and once this was dry the eyes were given a second wash of red ink. the area around the base of the horn was given a thin wash of red ink, and once dry an even thinner wash of purple ink to shade the recesses. this area was then highlighted/blended in once more with the dwarf flesh/elf flesh mix.
hope this helps![]()

quick WIP shot... not sure If I like the blood splatter or not so feedback would be appreciated.
(PS. for anyone who's following it I am still working on my chaos army it's just that I have the month from hell time-wise before me)
The blood definatly looks cool
i love it
really makes me want to get into mordhiem again
it was a bit of a non starter for me when it first came out but with all the plastic ranges that are available now its just screaming to be done properly
i love ur magister cant wait to see him finished
one thing made me laugh though, i think he would have a hard time hiding that massive horn on his head![]()
Nice work I think I need to buy the new wizard box for my own chaos stuff, love the work you´ve done with your´s, only concern is the blood splatters brightnes try giving it a wash of black+purpel+red ink wash to make it look more bloodish
great work keep em coming
edit: Love the face it´s really nice and shaded and with alot of evil and grimness !!![]()

I really like the magister so far, he looks like one evil SOB!
May I ask which figure you used as a base for the conversion? I can't recall seeing that body before...

The magister is awesome! you're one hell of a painter.
I don't like that blood splatter. Maybe you should lose it.
i like the splatter.
skin tones on him are really good,
looking forward to the rest of the warband..
Wow, I love that magister, awesome conversion and awesome paint job. Subscribing to this one methinks. Can't wait to see what comes next.
Fantastic, I think I have a few things to say about your work.
First and foremost, it's so good it made me post for the first time in weeks, which is quite an achievement. Second you made me eye all my old minis, and question whether I should buy more or not - I am seriously tempted, I really want to try to emulate you.
On the particular aspects of the model, I think the blood is brilliant, it reminds me very much of "Saw" (the film), before it became crappy, when it was brilliant just-the-right-level-of-bloodiness-without-becoming-hollywood-made-for-mass-gore-appeal-junk(not to forget that the fourth Saw instalment has a guy with stitched up mouth). I also watched "Hostel" for the first time a week ago, and the colour scheme of your old magister seems to match with the new one to fit that brutal killer theme. Why the in depth analysis? Well, because I think it's important that you know just how cool I think these figures are, even at this WIP stage, and that I want you to know just how impressed I am by them, even if that means nothing to you
.
On a related note, what is your recipe for skin?
Now I'm off to take another look at your army thread, I think I may post again before the night is through (if it's not threadmancy).

Man, i just wanna say how much i like checking out your progress with this log and the chaos army one! Loving your work mate, keep it up!
P.S. Gunna post this in your other log too...
Haha, threadomancy so I don't have to!
I was actually so inspired by this that I ordered the Wizard, Flaggelants and Spawn box yesterday, for when my orcs are done in a few weeks![]()

I just LOVE the magister!![]()
Blood splat: not too keen on it like it is - why don't you put a severed head / arm / beating hearth on the base? It would suddenly make more sense and fit really good with the candle!
Must remember to combine plastic from differents kits, must remember to combine plastic from differents kits ... must remember to combine plastic from differents kits... must remember to combine plastic from differents kits ...
These are incredible!
You're really doing justice to the best GW game, Mordheim.
So much justice that it summoned me here to actually post. Well done, mate!
That Magister looks killer! Very spooky.
