um. i cant read the rules on page one. it tells me i am not authorised. so, what is the point having them?
I believe those revised rules were never actually implemented, and were deleted. There was a plan to completely revise how the tactica threads would work (see the stickies started by Starlight on this board), but the changes never came to pass.
On the subject of the Eldar PDFs, they are now working again, thanks to assistance from the Tech Priest

Right. So 6th edition is around the corner and is expected to change the game in far more ways then 4th to 5th. What this means for existing Tactica threads (which are already full of speculation) is they will seem incompatible and inaccurate with regards to viable builds/tactics etc. At the same time, recent codices have been designed with 6th in mind to a degree, while others are far beyond the curve.
As a community, what is the best way to represent the Index to account for these issues? (I'm only the semi-absent keeper)
My Opinion would be to keep existing threads as they delve into speculation and brainstorming on adaptations to new rules. To help users, either keep a link on first page of the thread pointing to starting page where 6th ed. arrived, or I can sub-ref. it.
When new 6th ed. codicies begin arriving or stable, peer-reviewed tacticas are developed for current ones, I will make a new table for 6th edition.

I say just edit the titles to say (5th Ed Tactica) in front of them then add the (6th Ed Tactica) ones as they are created/re-created by their authors.

Come late Friday the new DE tactica thread will be up and running so the 5th edition one should be abandoned except by those still playing 5th for a bit. The overview in the 5th DE tactica thread is already very out-dated, and I/we/DE would rather start 6th with a clean slate.
What other people do for other armies is none of my concern

I dont think anyone will have a full idea of 6th for at least a few days if not weeks and though DE were recent and therefore 6th ed by design, Im in no rush to validate one tactica over another so quickly.
If it's good It'll stay on the first page for a while, right?
