Fluff is in progress. Tundra type planet, not just snow and ice. Lots of steppe and tundra.

I didn't see you mention how you were doing snow, but if you don't care to mix your own I'd suggest Woodland Scenics snow flock. It really looks stellar if applied right.

I saw a really good guide on this very site. Someone sold a DKOK army that had a tundraish look to it. Watered down glue with baking soda.. sprinkled. I think I will go that route, or try to pick up some of the woodland scenics you suggested.

I see GW has a line of snow as well, anyone know if its any good?

And I fully realize this thread doesnt have alot to look at right now. But I am working on some stuff.

I thought the Russ Exhaust pipes were a nice touch.

Oh yeah, and I placed my Forge World order today.

A boat load of heads & respriators to fit my 80+ infantry.
2 Leman Russ Ryza Turrets

So yah, its a big one. but it will go a long way in making my army unique and stylized.

there comes a time in every wargamers life where he passes on a nugget of wisdom onto another gamer, well todays the day!, what i use for snow is Baking soda, or Bycarbonit of soda they work very well and look a hell of a lot like snow

stage 1: make a paste consisting of water, pva glue and Bycarbonit of soda

Stage 2: put the paste onto parts of your model or base

Stage 3: sprinkle the dry bycarb onto the paste and hey presto! snow!

I went for a Tundra look for my basing. I will only do snow on some special models and maybe the heavy weapon teams... you know.. things that have been static for a while.

Commisar: (this is an older model that I just kind of spruced up a bit and rebased to match my current tundra/ice theme, hence the less sophisticated flesh tones etc.)

Hardend Vets: I wanted to give them better backpacks than the upgrade sprue. So the non Plasma Gunners are all getting those sweet backpacks from the HW Squads. I gotta tell you, I love how beefy the Vets look with those shottys and the FW helmets with Respirators... Just Gnarly if you ask me.

After the Grey/White/Black DryBrush I went with a watered down Chesnut Wash for Rust etc. Next step is the re-dry brushing and then highlights and detail work.
