Thread: HAVOK Skirmish Miniatures

    Re: HAVOK Skirmish Miniatures

It feels like its gone all quiet on the Havok front. Only seen a single EBay auction of any significance since 2011, so maybe a lot of the bigger collections are in safer hands now?
I'm surprised that there haven't been more unreleased models found though, seems a shame that only a dozen 'commander' figures made it out.
Always looking to boost my collection though, so shout if there's any going up for sale.

    Re: HAVOK Skirmish Miniatures

I'm fairly certain more than a dozen commander figures now exist.....and plenty of unreleased screamers, hounds and heavy weapons.....

Havok sales contine, plenty of unopened boxes and good condition minis selling every few weeks, but the days of huge lots goign cheap are over now peopel realise its worth something to some people.

The wiki hasn't had an update in a while, really it needs a shiny new website but that is well beyond my feeble skills. Possibly a new players edition, or an advanced edition bringing the complexity and options up to a warhammer 40,000 level.

The Hammer tank is one of the tricky ones. Much like the Banshee, they seem to go for both a little and a lot.
Expect anything from £10 to £30, more with the Stormtroopers as a set.

I brought one mint in the box for £20 back on 2008, sold it assembled for over £50, same with the Banshees I had. As always with eBay it depends on who is bidding and if two or more collectors notice its there. I liked the Hammer model, probably the best of the vehicles. A mighty pain that you could only get storm troopers with it though, I imagine it would have changed and they would have got thier own release in a second series, same with the Glaive riders and doomguard.

I wonder how realistic it would be to partition Mattel to allow use of the designs, assuming they didnt stay with the creator, then find a company to print off a few runs, and get a kick starter together to pay for it.

    Re: HAVOK Skirmish Miniatures

I recently unearthed by spare Hammer tanks. If anyone is interested in one, please make me an offer. And yes, I do have the accompanying Storm Troopers, but they are my favourite unit, so you will have to make an exceptional offer to convince me to part with a set of them.

I'm considering parting with more Havok because I'm running out of space to keep them. Ask for what you need in your collection, and I'll see if I'm willing to part with it. I have everything that was released -- no commanders, heavies or the later Pteravores.

Also, I've recently started collecting typewriters, so if you have one collecting dust somewhere, I may be willing to barter in exchange for my Havok units.

I'll take a picture of my collection at some point in the coming weeks. I'm quite busy at the moment, so it will probably appear in about a fortnight.

Several MIB Maulers and other models up on eBay at the moment. Different sellers, not just the one collector so seems like there is plenty of Havok still to go about.

Makes me wonder how many they did actually sell and the figures for how successful the line was. (I remember it being mentioned in GW at the time and the staff laughing loudly about it).

Ive been watching them for a while, I got into an insane bid war for a sealed pack of razors, they went for over £20 in the end.

I wonder whether it was a member of this forum?

That's crazy. I'm all for spending silly money on a pack or two, but over £20 for three figures! I found a couple of boxes at a car boot sale last year, £2 each.

    Re: HAVOK Skirmish Miniatures

I've noticed a massive drop off in wargames stuff at carboots in the last 10 years or so, back in the late 90s and early 2000 you could still get good bargains, people clearing out thier WD collections, complete copies of games like Heroques, boxes of half painted figures and so on.

In the last year I have seen a very battered 3rd edition space marine codex and 3 figure cases that had no foam in that the guy wanted £25 for.

I blame it on eBay and the like myself, its like the death of the second hand bookshop.

    Re: HAVOK Skirmish Miniatures

I have mixed emotions over it, in some ways it would of been nice if a couple were open, so I could of played with them. But there in an off the shelf condition which is epic, theres certainly no chance Ill be cracking them open. I can always make some proxy models out of cardboard lol

    Re: HAVOK Skirmish Miniatures

Does anyone know of something similar to Havok, that's available today? My son has really gotten into it of late and I would like something that he could collect for him self. Hes still a bit young so preferably a simple rule set and no need to paint. Im not very update with my minature games these days, all google searches produce discontinued games and there are no longer any local shops in my area. So I thought here would be a safe bet to ask.

    Re: HAVOK Skirmish Miniatures

Even though the official game is now out of print, the Heroscape fan site has been doing a great job with quality play testing and collaboration in the custom community. The following links are for two quality links for different types to customs that still capture the essence of the game, and most figures used for this customs are still available as either Heroclilx of Dungeon and Dragons miniatures (then just print the cards out). As for the Heroscape rule set, it is simple enough for kids, but it allows for a lot of variety for most adults it too.

Classic Style Heroscape customs-- fan community sanctioned:
    http://www.heroscapers.com/community...ad.php?t=33402

Comic book Hero customs--again fain site sanctioned:
    http://www.heroscapers.com/community...ad.php?t=28457

The only thing you need to play the game is preferably the stackable plastic hex terrain, a 20-sided die, 6-sided die, printed army cards, figures that match the features of the army cards, a single-blind way to mark turns, and tokens to mark wounds.

    Re: HAVOK Skirmish Miniatures

Hi all, just stumbled across this forum as I'm looking at selling my Havok collection and wondered if any of you guys would be interested?
I've got quite a sizeable collection, with some of the rarer/cooler/more sought after units, such as a couple of Hammer tanks, a couple of Maulers, Banshees, Borkian Mercenaries etc. Once I've dusted them down I'll get some photos of what there is, but in the meantime, if anyone is interested or has any enquiries let me know.
