How many stories are they going to fit in about Imperial Guardsmen getting butchered by the alien menace? (I'm guessing that Space Marine deaths will be thin on the ground.)

It's a shame that it isn't my Ork story. The one with Jane Austenesque Orks. I think that that's what they talk about when they say "monkeying around with the fluff".

Oh, and I dislike that front cover. So does Grubnatz. He wants to tell everyone that it simply fails to capture the elegance and dynamism of the Orkish form; if one is to commit the error of judging a book by its cover, he will read as little as is neccessary of his rivals' work.

Quite right. Still, Parker's opening to the story Headhunted demonstrated that you can happily write at least a few pages from the PoV of an ork without completely irritating the hell out of everyone. Indeed, it was an excellent few pages!

This is a book I won't be buying.

As much as I do love the more mysterious alien races, mostly lesser known races such as the Enslavers etc but also including the various Eldar and Necrons, I can't see many people doing justice to them.

Never judge a book by it's cover? Heh, it's terrible.

I remember some of the threads talked about this crazy Dark Eldar story that was going to be in it, does anyone know anything about it.

Also this is a really stupid question; they mean September of 2010 right?

Love that cover. Langley's stuff is great, he's beyond OTT and has probably lapped it several times. His Conan stuff is brilliant too.

what if it took the perspective of the hive-mind itself ? or perhaps even better a norn queen ? would be very difficult, but I dont think impossible! afterall, the only limit is the imagination...

Actually the only limit is relative to the amount of nerd rage one wishes to provoke. Anything from a Tyranid perspective would have to be handled very carefully by any author who does not want angry hoards at the front door the day after the book hits the shelves.
