Win/Win for GW. Same goes for plastic Ravs. Put 3 in battleforce and maybe 8 gargoyles. They will sell like hotcakes (the battleforces) especially considering they are $85USD from the Warstore and then naturally if the rules are good (and I have lots of faith in RC as the new IG rock more than they have since 2nd edition IMO) you will see the Rav and Garg boxes fly off the shelf in January (or around Christmas GW will make a killing on people asking for the new battleforce once it is known that Ravs and Gargs are in it).
Not saying they will but it would be damn good marketing to do that. People will buy 2 or 3 BF's JUST for plastic Ravs and gargoyles a month early. I'd buy at least one.

I wonder, would putting Raveners, and gargoyles in the new battle force kill the single box set sales? Case, and point: the fex.

Gargoyles, seeing as how they seem to be swarm type critters, I doubt adding 8 or so would hurt sales of the single boxes, as there are plenty of people who don't need the other stuff in the battleforce, or want to run larger broods than the handful you would get. At best, adding a few to the battleforce would make people want to run gargoyle units and buy a couple more boxes to expand the brood, or buy multiple battleforces. At worst, people who only want a few to build/paint will either choose the battleforce to get the other units and a handful of gargoyles, or wait and buy the single box later.
Ravenors I doubt would make an appearance, as they displace the warriors, and warriors are a fairly staple unit.

It would be great for someone like me who wants gaunts gaunts guants, but for people who don't want them, and want an extra carni, why would they spend an extra $70 of mini's they don't want, and just want the carni? I don't think the carni sales were hurt at all, GW would have put a stop to it along time ago if it did. And I think GW would rather have people buying a $130 box than a $50 for the carni.
Remember it only costs GW pennies to make the molds, so if they selling more boxe sets than single carni's GW is making more money this way then. Put it this way, GW isn't loosing money from noone buying single Carini's, GW is making money from people buying more gaunts and stealers, just to get that Carni ![]() GW is not loosing money, we are just saving money.

Make a new mold is far expensive, if you produce a large amount of models then it "disolves".

Now if it were a special specialized version of a broodlord, then there couple be several rare occasions where it could have appeared and therefore made it a semi-well known and dangerous variant. Does anyone else hope that nid "special characters" are just 0-1 rather than Unique? Considering that no nid is unique, it would make sense to have multiples of them in larger games such as Apoc.

Considering that Tyranids are an overwhelmingly unit-based army rather than being dependent on individual models such as heroes, it won't matter what they put in the battleforce because people just starting an army will probably end up buying multiples. Maybe not all at once, but eventually.

I'm sorry, if this has been mentioned before, but I dont have the time to read through all 9 pages, but I have news on the Raveners. Obviously there is a kind of search function in the new GW cash-system, and a friend of mine (a GW employee) searched it for the codes of Tyranid plastic boxes, and there appeared Raveners for 35 Euros and the seperated gaunts both for 19,50 Euros.
So apparantly the last Tyranid plastic Set will be Ravenors

It's in the first post of this thread. It would have hardly taken thirty seconds to find it.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, it didn't seem to be in the summary post, but my local GW manager who is in the loop on these things told me today that Tyranids have officially been delayed to late January due to printing problems.
So not too much but 2 or 3 weeks by the sounds of things. |

It's a shame the Codex has been delayed due to printing errors but, to be honest, this could be a good thing.
There have been many examples of grammar and spelling errors in Games Workshop publications, Codicies included, so at least this gives me hope there won't be many, if any, in this rendition. Contrary to what most people think, I quite like this lockdown on rumours - it means I will appreciate the new releases much more upon their disclosure to the public. For example, we have a few details about the Venomthrope, but nothing about the Hive Guard - good!

I feel the same Tiller but there are those that want to know everything in the codex a month early. I mean most WILL be known when the stores get their black box copy in late December but I've read/posted in every rumor thread since becoming a member and it amazes me how people bitch when they don't know enough about a codex 6 weeks early to be able to start using it.
GW clamping down also keeps people from seeing 95% of a codex early, hating it (like what happened with Chaos SM codex) and not buying it. If rumor is to be believed (and it can't be proven) most Chaos players didn't buy the new codex. If that is true GW benefits in not revealing too much because it means people won't know if it's good or bad until the day it's out, meaning in theory GW sells more. Even if 80% of the people buying a new codex end up ebaying it GW still got their money. Damn, 2 more weeks. Ugh. Guess it'll give me extra time to make my 'Nid army look nicer painting wise.
