I know there's one that has a breathable atmosphere only where the night and day sides meet, as the planet revolves in such a fashion that it always has the same side facing its star.
(Though I do believe that IRL all the atmosphere on such a planet *should* have been frozen on the dark side or evaporated into space, so technically the planet cannot exist.)

Oh, and Fenris hasn't been retconned into a Deathworld, it's been one since 2nd edition. I think that the bit about one of the three deadliest was in the 2nd edition Codex, too.
Mordia is not a deathworld. And it can exist as a livable planet if the magnetosphere is strong enough. (I'm just not sure what the weather pattern would do.)

The problem on Mordia is that there are very little resources so it takes a totalitarian hand to manage them well enough to keep everyone alive.

Main Entry: jun·gle
Pronunciation: \ˈjəŋ-gəl\
Function: noun
Usage: often attributive
Etymology: Hindi jaṅgal & Urdu jangal forest, from Sanskrit jaṅgala desert region
Date: 1776

1 a : an impenetrable thicket or tangled mass of tropical vegetation b : a tract overgrown with thickets or masses of vegetation.

It would seem that the plants should at least represent some sort of "tropical" nature. The forests of Caliban were impenetrable at times, but if you've ever lived around various types of forest (especially those containing Vine Maple trees) you'd know that forest comes with patches that are impenetrable as well.

Yeah, jungle MUST be tropical. That's part of the definition. Rainforests aren't necessarily tropical, but jungles are.

Death worlds are as varied as there are bioms and more.

A Jungle death world can kill you with: disease, weather, carnivorous critters.
An Ice death world can kill you with: disease, weather, carnivorous critters.
An Ocean death world can kill you with: disease, weather, carnivorous critters.
A desert death world can kill you with: disease, weather, carnivorous critters.
A death world made of cotton candy inhabited by vampires can kill you with: disease, disease, carnivorous critters.

Even a world like earth could be made into a death world if our common cockroach grew to the size of an SUV.

It’s the 40k UNIVERSE man. Anything’s possible – and Death Worlds is a pretty broad term.

Well, sending Guard regiments out is all Catachans really do between trying to survive till age ten and trying to survive till old age (i.e. 30). There's no industry, no mining, no oils, no trees that can be reliably chopped down and transported, no cities, nothing. That the atmosphere is breathable is a mixed blessing in that yeah, humans can live there, but only because the Imperium kinda wants them to to cover space and breed Rambos.

See two points above. Also, death worlds that are not Catachan might have some awesome ore, promethium stores, or other valuable material that must be taken FOR THE GLORY OF THE IMPERIUM.

But if that was so, there wouldn't be Tylenol. We wouldn't have invented it.

Why would we live on an ice world?

Because ice is made from hydrogen and oxygen. Two key elements in rocket fuel.
