Quick update on my current plans for further models:

- painting 5 scouts. They're already primed, inked and ready for the detail work.
- 5 more members for the tactical squad- 3 of them ready for painting.
- Terminators! Got the raw materials ready, expect some heavy converting.

(There's a nice little story behind them... While visiting a convention where we promoted the sci-fi roleplaying game I'm illustrating for (and between gamemastering 6 games in one and a half days... ), I've met a retailer who is about to clean up his storage from all GW stuff... he sold it for 30% off, and gave me 50% after I've kept his kids busy (they took part in two of my games) and waited until the very end (the point when he realized he sold virtually nothing, due to the convention being mainly by pure roleplayers and GW-hateboys). So I grabbed these terminators and a box of berzerkers.)

Then, there are plans for the near future, including an assault squad (models ready for stripping, cutting and converting), Jetbikes (already got the basic third party models, just need much more converting ideas), berzerkers (death company rules, gladiator-style), a command squad (models ready), heavily converted devastators, legio cybernetica droids, a tech priest with servitors (as a devestator squad count-as)... and there's a dreadnought to be painted.

So many ideas, so little time.

Quick WIP update on the scouts... here's a pic:

Learned to love these models: Savage, blunt and all-retro. They'll serve me well.

Gotta love this World Eaters... Earlier, as we both sit down, takin' our booze and talking about this project, I barely could imagine how it turns out. And now this fellas! You dumped my expactations and on top, you dropped this urge of... more! I demand a painted dread! Ok, enough brown-nosed, so:
What happened to the Scout with the shuriken-catapult?
Last time I counted six of them...

In need of some bitz? Got my number

@Abyss & Daemon: Thank you, guys.

@Duck: Glad you still like them, thanks for posting- gotta love the beer & converting-sessions, I'm in dire need of more of them to get the creative and philosophical juices flowing.

Shuriken catapult guy is retired until I get my hands on four more of them to make a ten-men-squad- still not sure what to make out of him without ruining the wonderfully oldschool model... So in the moment, he has to live with a honor place in my collection.

In the bits bucket.

On a not-so-different note: Scouts finished! (Pic kinda blurry, the faces are more detailed.)

Workspace pics! I use both for painting and converting, but I prefer to sit at the living room table because I like to watch TV and hang out with my girl while working on my army. Well, whenever it's not exactly covered by the remnants of a party, like it is at the moment.

The next batch is also underway, part 2 of Tac Assault Squad Secutor. Sorry for the fact that I don't have the muse to do proper pics at the moment, but they're rough and unprimed anyway. I guess there will be the usual "hard to judge your stuff when it's unpainted" comments, but remember that the other guys from the squad looked the same way before. Well, it seems that I finally got a real motivation to paint on, having finished two squads (or one and a half), because of the contest at PH forums, and having discovered several great hobby stores (just days ago I realized that my local GW store is just 20 minutes away) to game there.

And, yeah, there's a heavily converted RT marine among them. I know that he isn't exactly PH, and some people won't like him, but he lingered around my bits box for ages, and I was yearning to give him a worthly existence sind I got this single half miniature ages ago (something around 8 years). So here he is, and I love this guy. Expect some heavy justification fluff. (Parts: RT Marine, CSM backpack, bionic plastik necron leg from space crusade, normal marine leg, dark eldar head, small chainsword from a chronopia mini, gladiator-style-shoulderpad-arm from void junkers.)

Does your flat still looks like that? Sorry, I should have cleaned up a little bit more

Awww... nicely! "Brutus! Stop bothering our neophytes and get over here!"
It seems you've managed to use your study-breaks quite well. Guess what?
I adore those two retired marines: The idea of those old-school khorne berzerkers you showed in one of the wd's makes itself manifest in that crumpy ol' SC marine, gladiator like (but just not so barefoot, thankfully). Also I guess, my primed wannabe-blood angel looks far better that way. If you wanna convert your captain, you'll have to take a model more intimidating (and more "you're my next trophy!"-like).

Wait... Those spikes on that left guy's shoulderpad. Don't you think that's way too chaotic? Maybe I'll have to look at it full, but I suggest it doesn't fit in that much. Love the pose anyway.
Enough grumbling, good work, keep it up!

Best wishes,
your Pal

Wow, this certainly hasn't got the attention it deserves - I love (almost) everything here! That "proud" marine is brilliant, are those Space Crusade legs? And I really like the old scouts, very characterful.

The only thing I'm not so keen on is the dred, I think the position of the weapon arms is throwing it off for me. Otherwise great work, and please keep it up - don't stop posting

@Duck: Not anymore, I cleaned up today- don't bother, mate, you did more then enough. Concerning the spikes, let's see how they turn out. At the moment, I like them, but I can cut them off any time, even after painting.

@others: Thanks a lot... Brutus' head is from the space wolves sprue, with green stuffed hair. And the plastic armour plates are from an old whfb skeleton sprue, they werde additional/optional armour.

On a different note... Couldn't... resist...

I think the right hand should be the other way around and the bade on the other end, it would be more a fighting stance, now it looks like he wants to clean the floor.

Faschinating work, I really like the Sergeant Brutus especially what you have done to his hair and chestpiece.

I am not so found about the dread thought. I think it got abit to much things on it, but that is what I think otherwise great work on the rest!

@Honorius: Thanks, glad you like. There will be four of them armed this way, led by a Sergeant with a double-bladed poweraxe and the combi-bolter in his other hand. Yeah, the scouts have aged very, very well. Learned to love the models, and it was a nice change painting them.

@Grobrotz: I know what you mean, and I'll keep it in mind while converting the others. But for this one, I'll keep it the way it is- I like his stance, actually, as if he was mopping the floor with a downed enemy.

@malika: Cryx Bane Thrall Shoulders from Warmachine. It hurt to cut apart these great models again, but the result is well worth it.

@Raion: Thanks a lot... yeah, the dread is a case of love it or loathe it. Let's see how he turns out when painted.
