Hello, my name is fen. The main reason I finally stopped lurking as a guest was to post here in the project log section. Mostly because I want to get my Necromunda collection painted up and fully ready for action over this year. I'm hoping that having them logged together in one place will help motivate me and give a sense of accomplishment.
I still have no idea exactly how many minis are present in my Necro collection. Some of them are duplicates; some need repair work, but most of them need painting. I've been ducking counting exact numbers I'm not starting from entirely scratch, I already have a few minis painted so I'll start out by putting those up in the next few posts. The initial aim is to paint enough minis from each gang to provide a reasonable selection for starting out, then go back and paint up the remainder. First of all, some of the earliest minis I painted in my Necro collection: The Goliaths - 4 of them complete ![]() ![]() ![]() A lot of the other members of this gang are in various states of (in)completion, Goliaths aren't high up on my list of priorities though. I like the minis, but the gang has lousy skills. Here's a WIP Yeld. It's almost finished but I lost interest and have since put it away until it's time to paint all of the Spyrers.

Next up are the second most complete gang I have in my collection. Scavvies:
Here's a shot of all of them as they stand right now ![]() And here are the individual minis broken down into trios: ![]() ![]() ![]() I still need to paint a new Leader mini, a couple more mutants and the second Scaly before this gang is ready to roll. But they are close atm. |

Next up are the only members of my Esher gang that I actually completed. The rest are in various states of paint. Mostly playable with base colours, but really not acceptable imo.
![]() I'm very fond of these three minis, which is why I painted them first. The Middle one acts as the leader when I play this gang (which is not that often tbh). Redemptionists: I have a LOT of Redempts, but I've only painted three completely so far. I am very fond of the look, so I do want to go back and finish them off when I have a chance. Here are the first three: ![]() ![]() (Need to paint his base) ![]() - I love this mini and the paint job on it is one of my favs I've done. It holds up well imo. (If a tad shiney/patchy varnish in this photo). |

Basic Weapon Enforcers:
![]() My favourite of the bunch, the Patrol Sergeant: ![]() And last of all, the Judge that supports the patrol when needed (special scenarios) ![]() I still wish I'd cut off the Eagle from this mini... Ratskin Chief: I intend to repaint this mini when I move onto my Ratskins, but for now he's used as a Ratskin scout. Not happy with it tbh.

Last of all, the gang I'm actually working on right now. I have three of them completed and I'm working on more. I intend to get to twelve of them before I move onto anything else of my own.
Pit Slaves: ![]() ![]() ![]() So that's it, that's where I'm starting from in this. It's the largest bunch of pictures I'll put up in one go, from now on there will be an occasional update as and when I finish another Pit Slave. Once I have 12 of them finished I'll move on and finish up the Enforcer gang (then start a different gang). And maybe I'll figure out exactly how many minis I have in my collection, so I can count down how many are left. Last edited by -fen-; 16-01-2008 at 09:31. |

That's some very nice mini's you've got there. All beautifully painted in my opinion. I especially like the enforcers, white goes very good with them. Sounds like a good plan of approach too. What about terrain?

Thank you for the comments guys! It certainly helps keep the old motivation to paint up.
). Fortunately it works great for them, as I'm used to seeing them in Black and Yellow. As for terrain, right now it's not that high on my list as I own 3 sets of the cardboard terrain (Outlanders + Original) plus have access to quite a few Cities of Death pieces and various other bits from WH40K. (And I built a couple of small sump ponds a while back - I have pictures somewhere). More importantly, I have no decent storage space in my apartment for keeping terrain that isn't collapsable. The plan is, finish the minis then move to a house with a spare room where I can build some seriously 3D terrain on 1'x1' "tiles". |

My my... I would be dang proud of myself if I had a collection like this!! Wonderful stuff!! Now get to painting the rest of them!!
Seriously though, your painting is quite exceptional! I like how you paint your metals, but just all of it is high standard!! Keep up! We definitly want to see more!! At least I do!

If you're looking for cheap and great terrain then I'd recommend Amera plastic moulds.
I'm afraid you're going to have to tell me about those Enforcers, because I can't figure it out! Robocop?

I think he means Star Wars. But I could be wrong. I tend to link everything to Star Wars.

Onto the day's work: ![]() He's not based yet as I tend to leave that drying overnight. It's a converted Goliath model (you can see an unconverted version in the first post of this thread), I liked the model so much I wanted to have another one of it in a different gang. Goliaths make good Pit Slaves imo, this one has a pistol, Club/Power Maul and a Chainsaw. The colours are still a little rich, I'm going to work on that a little more tomorrow. Still I'm pretty happy with the look, it should really come into its own once I finish up the base and darken the metal a tad. Edit: As a little bonus, I actually found some older shots of the sump pools I built last year. ![]() ![]() Most of the parts should be instantly recognisable.
