Default The Dark Heresy Project

My friends and I have just started a Dark Heresy group and man is it GREAT!!! We are all also big time miniature gamers and man does the game support minis. We have all begun to paint different pcs, npcs, thugs, civies, and antagonists. This log will show off what I am new stuff I will be adding to our groups collection each week (and maybe some of theres).

Adept or Psyker? (either way I love this model, easy conversion, Mordheim weapon swap):

I have been also scouring my D&D prepaints and I found these useful. They definately needed some repaint and basing, but it only took about an hour to have them looking nice.

Cultist with daemon weapon (just a touched up slight repaint D&D Blood Cultist of Vol, urban base):

Unbound Slannish Daemon Host (another touched up slight repaint, this time a Dolgaunt Monk, urban base):

More miniatures for the Dark Heresy campaign:

Here's a preacher. I love this model because for me it really epitomizes the Imperium in the 40K Universe. In one hand he has a Las pistol symbol of one of the most common Imperial technologies and in the other he has a primitive club showing how much of the Imperial world has reembraced the dark age.

Preacher:

This guy is perfect as a Emperor obsessed madman (Mordheim fanatic):

These guys look smashing.

I'm very curious about dark heresy (especially as it's somewhat final now) - what's it like?

And what's next on the cards?

Thanks for the kind comment! I'm really happy with how I am progressing as a painter. Anyway, Dark Heresy is awesome! The great part about it is that it is really how I want to play 40K. If you use miniatures and battle-maps it plays like a roleplaying game with a deep skirmish miniature game as the combat mechanic. I'm especially enjoying it as a painter because painting whole armies is not enjoyable for me so this is an excuse for me to paint tons of individual models.

Not to be a shill, but if you want to hear more I would recommend going to waywo.podbean.com and listening to the newest episode. We discuss Dark Heresy extensively in the latest episode.

The next minis I plan to paint for the game are my PC (a techpriest I just finished converting), and a verteran guardsmen type inquisitorial retinue character.

On top of subscribing, I shall also say your models look good and request background for all the characters taking part.

Nope, that would be Necromunda (one of the bestestest games evah!)

Dark Heresy is a tabletop Roleplaying game (like dungeons and dragons) set in the 40k universe.
IMHO it's brilliant, too bad it will only be produced until september 2008

If you like roleplaying games and 40k: buy it

Creatures: The next 5 posts will be of aliens I painted for the campaign I am running. I am running a DH game and I chose the adventure form the DM kit as the first adventure for the group. The main antagonists have a pool of xenos creatures at their disposal so I made up 5 different kinds of creature. I will present a picture of each creature, the model I used, and then I'll present the stat block I created for the creature in case there are any players out there that would like to use them.
