New Red Scorpions stuff-GD Germany

From GD Germany. At least I think these are new, haven't seen these anywhere before, apologies if they aren't new.

very very cool, esp the dreadnought

The assault marines seem a bit pointless at first, but when you consider all the spare torsos you'd have from buying regular kits and assault marines, you get the idea

They have resin jump packs with additional detailing and new torsos. First two items for the Games Day list.

Oh im going to hold on to my RS stuff now if these are coming out nice one FW and bnf for geting the pictures! So do this mean the Red Scorpions are cmoning back in a new IA?

The Assault sergeant was seen at the Forgeworld Open Day as Sgt Culln (Captain Culln from IA4 prior to promotion?) which implies the Red Scorpions are one of the Marine Chapters in Vraks part two. This lot would tend to confirm the Scorpions are in IA5 part 2, probably updated to the new SM codex.

I just wish there weren't scorpions all over them. I'd love some older power armour for my Dark Angels, but not sure I can be arsed spending that much time filing stuff off.

The torso and helmets generally don't have scorpions on them. I brought about 3 packs for my pre-heresy army and about 4 out of 10 have scorpions on there chest. And there really small and easy to get rid of. The 11th torso is a pain as it has a huge imperial eagle on it with a little scorpion in it but then it doesn't take that long to file off really

The dread looks very....stiff... like it's sitting in a stasischamber or something... the detailing is cool, but there is no dynamism at all

Anyhow, Im sure ppl can "arange" that to happend with some GS and tools...

Those ammo runts have pirate hats on. I wonder if we are going to see a Forgeworld Kaptin Badrukk - he comes with a bunch of ammo runtz if I remember correctly

I agree; I think the current dreadnought design, in general, is starting to show its age, the design is great and all but really lacks the ability to model it in any sort of dynamic pose without extensive conversion. I can't put my finger on why but it seems with the current design the more detail thats put on the front armor around the head the stiffer it makes it look. GW really should do a space marine dreadnought more like the Horus Heresy Artbook pre-heresy designs; those have more dynamic.

Gah i've just realised that those jump packs have imperial eagles on so there is no point in me buying the RS assualt marines for my pre-heresy army

And yes the dreadnought does look a bit stiff. The legs are like an epic titan (can't remember which) and just stay perfectly vertical

Red Scorpions are one of the chapters in Vraks part two. There was plenty of artwork featuring them and my friend commented 'oh, they're bringing them back?' when he found the pages.

Bastards! I was just about to build my RS vanguard, these will now do me nicely if I swap their backpacks for the preheresy ones i luckily bought before bitzpocalypse.

Wow, Now I might even concider getting me a bunch of scorpions, I just love the heads and I do need new Assault Marines for the next codex. I'm so keeping the symbols, I go with squad-codenames instead of numbers like, Assaullt squad Sqorpion etc. That way I get to keep all sweet details!

But whats wrong with the Dreadnought? It looks like crap. The only thing woth on it is IMO the Banner. There's nothing special about it really. Just another FW Dread in the line. Why can't we get a new exiting dread? Different? That one is just plain out boring to look at.

I actually like the dreadnought. I may get one for my own custom chapter and file off the scorpions. It has some nice generic decorations that fit for any chapter, and it's not so decorated you cant use it as both a normal or venerable.
