That steed is Old School in the extreme, it is surely a homage to the old Realm of Chaos steed from the mid to late 80's? I love it all the more for that fact.

I personally like the mount, for all its shortness. Aren't chaos-horses described as shorter than their southern and elven brethren?

the Vampires one is very well done because the cover is very bleak and muted except for the vampire (Konrad?) because that is the intended focus of the cover art. It incorporates all of the undead while still focusing on what the book is about Vampires. I agree that the cover art of the new Chaos Book is very...well...Khorn. and I being a Nurgle player myself, like a little more inclusiveness within the cover of an army book and not just one portion of the book represented upon the cover. However, I do think that is a nice cover for what it is and looks pretty cool, just not as a cover, but as art.

Tzeentch already has the warhammer online MMO after him, but what about some Nurgle, or for once, Slaanesh (especially that GW already decided to tone down slaanesh to attract kids

That mounted lord, is so cool.

Ive now got Harry T Hammer to paint up for lord on foot and a choice between the jugger lord and that one for mounted..... or maybe ill just get both... Im a happy chaos bunny

That mounted lord is amazing, the pose could be a little more dynamic but thats just nitpicking really. All in all, a great model - one that my chaos buddy is sure to pick up and make my poor elves and bretonnians cry.

Except for the tentacle arm I think this model is flawless! It has a very nice oldstyle feeling to it, while at the same time keeps the fresh look Chaos Warriors have had since SoC.

I think that's just the ponies of some steppe-nomad-Marauders. Chaos Steeds are big mutie war-horses, emphasis 'big', 'mutie' and 'war-horses'.

Yes but that is a long established love fest. Take look at the cover of the existing chaos army book or the Chaos Warriors or knights. Death dealer was painted in 1973 so it is nice to see GW catch up!

Nah, just an eye guard for the horse. The current chaos knight have a head with them.

The steed looks like it's straight from LOTR Nazgul.

But this model is amazing, I didn't think it could get any better than that Lord on Jugger, so WOW!!!

Not just the steed either - the antlers on the lord are more Nurgle than any other god IMHO.
I quite like the model has a whole, but i'd actually be inclinded to de-spike it a little (or at least de-spike the horse).
The steed itself has a bit of an Empire feel to its armour underneath the spiky bits.
Also, i seriously dig that hammer. I'm hoping the knights have mace/morningstar/hammer/club weapons if they don't have lances.
