Err... While I'm fully aware that GW does not make up everything themselves, and are not above a little "borrowing of ideas", I don't think this is the best example.

Apart from the fact that it is an evil looking warrior sitting on a standing horse, I can't see many similarities; The Chaos horse is standing differently, and it is fully armoured. The Chaos Lord is holding a different weapon and a different shield in a different manner, he is wearing a different suit of armour and a different helmet, and he is in a different pose.

I rather doubt that the person who made the painting was the first person to paint a dark knight on a horse

Precisely. They're both dark knights on horses and they've got shields, the similarites end there. The model and the knight in the picture don't really share any other atributes.

Love that new miniature, can't wait to get my hands on the new WD.

I am actually thinking of getting me a couple of new plastic chaos knights to convert to blood knights for my VC army, lot cheaper than those metal ones... I hope :-)

hmmm.. looks like I'll us my old knights as regular knights and the new ones as chosen. The scales are the same.. correct?

There are no chosen knights anymore.

However, the new regular knights stateline is the same as the old chosen knights stateline.

No.

Its not the best army book cover ever (Mr. Blanche still holds that honour) but its not as bad as everyones making it out to be. Theres a kickass chaos bloke with flames all round him and a bunch of his lackies pillaging some civilised nation. It pretty much somes up what the army is about and techically its sound.

I did prefer Engra though. Just the fact that most people bothered to remember the guys name proves how awesome that picture is.

Have you looked at the dark elves army books art? Obviously not.
The new cover for chaos is way better than the current anyways...

That Knight / Lord is really nice, one small (nit-picky) complaint is that it's a little static. I'm finding myself wondering if it will look out of place next to the other knights (whom are, presumably, galloping).

Oh, don't get me wrong, it's ******* brilliant, but it seems more a stand-alone centerpiece than the leader of a unit.

Come on. Its a pretty standard "dark knight" pose – but it has the traditional gaudy spike GW chaos worshiper look – unlike the thing in your link

Of course it is, but that pic is a classic, no doubt seen by many in the GW office.

If they used it as a model for the mini well done.

The pose is excellent.
